They had a great time and you've probably recruited a new AFF'er I imagine. Although I did have some explaining to do about the whole "AKL Thing" after we left the drinks.

When storyteller organised the previous weeks drinks night I almost wasn't going to hold one but then dfcatch said he would be in town so I thought best to do something.

I could go through the records and work out the number of AFFers and special guests who have attended over the last 4 and a bit years, but I don't keep records as good as Mwenenzi and anyway I don't have the time. I had a prospective tenant come and view my place 5:30 Wednesday night and I have set an unrealistic goal of moving out in date in early May.

Thanks to Johnk and Mal for getting the tradition started and it is something that I will miss. It was interesting that our Brisbane drinks night was getting rather popular in google search and I think we had 17 members turn up one evening, we may have had more attendees for the Christmas drinks but they were held in different location.

It was good to have overseas guests for a number of the drinks nights before each of 2009, 2010, and 2011 Ozfests.

Thanks to everyone who turned up last night and also in the past.

Samh004 has a suggested date for next Brisbane drinks night, and in due course he will start a new thread.

In the quiz our team ended up 2nd, and I ended up with the bottle of Rose.

The aviation question was, Which airline website crashed after offering $10 airfares.

I should have made a more concerted effort to attend..
Though I did have a portfolio of 221 special clients from SPG Asia Pacific on the GC last night, which also may have some validation in the future for the well being of AFF members.
It has been a pleasure to have met you & your shared exceptional aviation experiences & travel knowledge at the events.
You have always displayed a most friendly, smiling & thirsty acquaintance, at the very least..
We will miss you Bundy Bear, though surely your cross country migration shall certainly allow us a validated excuse to visit you & have some future & enjoyable drinks & perhaps a trivia night on the west coast.. Over sunset drinks..
Wish you a great future filled with success & happy desired travel experiences.

Likewise, it was disappointing to miss Bundy Bears' last drinks but I think we can have comfort in the fact that he'll try to enliven the PER membership for drinks - I introduced him to JohnM at our drinks last week. I'll have to set up a MaM drinks when I'm over in PER next with BB as the guest of honour.
