Another Celeb denied access to Qantas Lounge [Dress code]

If that orange thing was really what she was wearing uh... yeah no. I can see why she would have been refused. Not that I really give a tinkers, but I think I'd raise an eyebrow if I saw that in a lounge.. but then again around the world I've seen some outfits for sure. lol

Really though one agent may think that's not acceptable under the dress code, but the next agent may think it's OK.. so subjective, even with the attempt to make the rules clearer. And when personal standards differ and it's subjective, not to mention not consistent across all QF lounges, it leads to ridiculous situations and it's all basically QF's fault for putting this out there. Honestly the other day when I saw all the thogs in BNE J I thought maybe the policy had been relaxed or quietly done away with. Seems not.

the whole thing is ridiculous

I don't feel she's dressing just to create a story, or at least not one of being denied access to a lounge. Certainly, she wants brand awareness, as both herself and husband are promoting her brand. You wouldn't wear someone else's label.
You are incorrect in this instance. David and Natalie Lukic own Ryderwear and the business was started in and continues to be ran from Adelaide. They are major clients of ours so have met them several times.
Eva Marie is an ambassador of Ryderwear so to speak and was in Adelaide to launch Ryderwear’s new fitness app

the dress code is just such a bad bad idea.

Every time I start thinking the dress code is a bad idea, I see something that reminds me it is a good idea.

Yesterday in HK, I was at a restaurant in a nice hotel.

It's winter in HK so temps are mild and not humid. Most of the restaurant guests are either dressed reasonably well, or have at least made half an effort.

Then this guy walks in and keeps wandering around the restaurant. Attire consists of a worn out t shirt, a pair of very short, loose footy shorts, and of course, rubber thongs. To complete the look, the T-shirt is too small and doesn't quite cover his gut. I picked him as an Aussie before he started talking to the waiters.

[opinion) It's slovenly, and drags down the room. Make an effort people!

As I corrected myself in post #15, nearly 3 hours earlier ;)

I couldn't immediately see that information.

Qantas was right, but dress codes are kind of outdated in this day and age... they are just asking for trouble with this really.

Nonsense - we need more institutions to encourage people to lift standards and Qantas should be congratulated for making an effort. They should make the dress code stricter and insist on collared shirts for men, and ban not only thongs but sports shoes as well.

She thought that it was a Sports Lounge?

I'd have thought the rule is pretty clear, she's denied access courtesy of item 2. Hubby is clearly allowed since "shorts" or not banned. Seems Celebs have difficulty ready anything bar Social Media ...

When I get asked the question in survey, what would make me fly QF more? My answer, get rid of the dress code and allow thongs.
That’s the Qantas Pub, isn’t it?

But don’t the Kiwis (New Zealander’s) call them Jandals. I am only stirring the pot so please do not take offence.

None taken. Seriously though, I would consider flying QF if they get rid of that dress code.
