Another grubby QANTAS lounge experience...

…Can I please just note, amongst the general trend of QF bashing of late, that at least part of the problem is the pigs at the trough behaviour of some of the lounge guests. I am at times amazed by the ability of a single person to spread food and used cutlery around themselves with such gay abandon.

If being pedantic I’d also note that a ‘lounge’ is an inanimate object. So is the real focus of this thread that QF should hire more staff, or amend their contract with the provider, to have more staff present?
Agree on both points but would it hurt QF to have the seats cleaned more than once every 2 years. The amount of seats covered in sticky liquid or just grotty is woeful

Oh definitely agree with this. There's definitely some people who treat the Lounge like their Lounge Rooms (possibly). Of course the topic of guest behaviour, dress etc has been done to death so no need to rehash.

I'm just glad I haven't witnessed (but I bet it happens) examples of one of the current lounge related stories going around - about people dumping items of food, drink etc in their carry on bags which is a whole other level of.. well I'm not sure the word. Even supposedly some bringing containers to empty bathroom containers (eg: aesop products). I mean I remember in the great TP crises of 2-3 years ago people were stealing 0.5ply from their offices and such, but that's a new level.

Anyway, patron behaviour aside the point remains that yep, some lounges need a much better "clean up" service and, well, doing things like furniture deep cleans and things.

They used to do these kinds of things (allegedly) in the Christmas/NY breaks iirc, but it's been awhile since tat seemed to go on unfortunately.

Melbourne Lounge, Monday 7am. Feels more like an overcrowded MacDonalds on a long weekend Sunday afternoon...

Tables not cleaned, had to do my own cleaning to find somewhere to sit down. Food very ordinary, and all hot foot had run out. Having been a lounge member for over thirty years, QF's service has set a new low bar. It's easy to make a bumper profit when you reduce the quality of the product. Let's see what happens to the airline's market share in the next three years.
Must say and sadly agree with you.

Its market share will continue to dominate as long as the Australian government continues to protect it.
