Found this web site and have no idea who or what it is .Havent had a chance to Google the bona fides of the Boss

VivaJet Airlines Home

pls didnt know there were spare EMB190s around

Legit or another crackpot?

If I was running a business I would have thought an ABN would be a starting point, especially if you have had a company for a year! Hope the boss had nothing to do with this little incident?

Turkish Tandem Pilot: Mr.Cenap H.Kahyaoglu
Visiting Tandem Passenger: Mrs.Sehgal Sangereeta
Visiting Tandem Paraglider Passenger Fatality
Babadag, Oludeniz/Fethiye
Pilot forgets to lock passangers" leg straps before takeoff, passenger falls and crashes

It does list an ACN (122 128 090) which looks up on ASIC's search engine, but I'm guessing this is some sort of hoax or scam.

For a company that's saying it's going to start flights by the end of 2007 there's no evidence of anything much going on. You can't just bring in a bunch of planes and start flying around without a fair bit of prep work and I think we all would have noticed that sort of thing going on.

And if they plan to start at the end of 2007, one would think their timetable would reflect daylight saving times.

I think it looks more like a university student project than a real airline.

Cmon...this has to be a student project.
Let's take a look at what they're claiming:

They seem to be imply being a LCC (reference to a "low fare basis" - they cite an example promo fare ADL-BNE for $49!), but are offering:
  • complimentary meals and drinks
  • Full FF program
  • "superb customer care"
  • "best service in the air"
Cmon. Tell me any LCC that could ever do any of that, ESPECIALLY the last two points :D

Cheers,

josh

Think their pricing would also fall afowl of the rules.
Additional charges for both phone and internet
No way to avoid the extra charges

(unlike the 0.0001% that pay QF via BPay) :)

Hey I pay QF bpay - I refuse to pay $6.60 on a $95 one way MEL-SYD fare! :)

I don't think QF, DJ, JQ and TT have to worry about a new competitor just yet.

Having done a business plan for a similar type of operation, all I can say is that with these type of 'initial' fares and conditions they must have VERY deep pockets.
