Hello everyone,
My first post and have been reading with interest everyone comments and suggestions prior to the changes on 25th May. I have book 2 QFF seats to Bangkok at 50000 point per seat, for 10/4/06. I was told by qantas staff the award was valid for one year starting from the departure date and therefore is was valid until 10/4/07. Does this mean I can change my date of travel at any time before the 10/4/07 eg. might change travel date to January 2007 but wont know till next year.
Hope this all makes sense.

Yes, that is correct. It used to be that FF tickets were only valid for 12 months from the ticket issue date, but the Qantas Terms and Conditions now clearly state that the ticket is valid for 12 months from the original departure date.

However, you need to be aware of a few things. Firstly there is a fee to change the date of a reward ticket - 2500 points (revalidation fee). Secondly, if you need to have the ticket re-issued (incuring the 5000 point reissue fee), it will be repriced at the prevailing program rules (and taxes/surcharges etc) at the time of reissue. A simple date/time change does not require a reissue. But changes such as the routing, class of travel or name on the ticket do require it to be reissued.

Also, if you are a Silver member or higher you can change the DATE of the tickets for no cost.

Regards
Daniel
