And the 'sale rate' would be off the full rack rate, whereas members can always get a discounted rate.

Last time I compared 'private sale' prices with ones I could book, they were the same.

I have been looking at a couple of Middle Eastern cities and I will agree that the standard members' rates are usually quite good (when compared to my usual booking sites). However, I have gotten prices on this sale that are 5 to 10% less than what I was seeing a few weeks ago. Now the question remains is that enough to pre-pay for rooms in the March or June time period or take my chances with the "normal Accor rates" and pay in a couple of months time....

There are some great prices at the Pullman on the Park, Melbourne compared with a week ago. Just not sure I would like to stay there !

Just booked Sofitel AKL for 237 each room for the lions tour rugby in AKL for partners dad etc but we decided we would stay too as it's a father son thing. I get to be the chauffeur!!:-| Aaarrggh!!! Crowne is sold out for those dates which is where we stayed last time for the rugby (easy walk down the hill to the free bus). Other hotel prices are up there. Hoping to either receive an upgrade (yeah stop laughing!) or use a different voucher for an upgrade on the day (If I remember to present it!). I've eaten there just trying it out for A+ and it was good although we haven't been back. Hoping to get points for both rooms though.

Tried booking Queenstown Sofitel for the marathon in Nov but it's NOT on sale whatsoever! Accor are one of the partners of the run but I don't think that means there are any deals. Will have a snoop around or check out AirBnB.
