Antarctica cruise pondering and add ons

@bigpetebrown I decided not to do this cruise and now I'm regretting it because it's been so hot in Adelaide and 41 again this week. I keep looking at cruises and one day I'll do it. I wish I had friends like yours

Having just come back from our Antarctica cruise, all I can say is try and do it and do the landings. There are cheaper options than the one we did and the nice food etc aren't necessary (although we enjoyed it), but the landings were incredible. I have fallen in love with penguins and could watch them for way longer than we did - such personalities I have friends who did a similar cruise to us, but way cheaper because it wasn't a luxury ship, so worth hunting around. Unfortunately any cruises that do landings are expensive, but when you see the crew they need and what they have to do to keep people and the environment safe, it is totally understandable.

Thanks - it's still on the bucket list and although I regret not going because I would have missed some of this awful Adelaide summer I don't regret not going on this one because we couldn't land - I'll keep looking. In a few months I will be a lot more flexible and will just take off!!
