That’s the beauty of expedition cruises, staff/officers play it by ear and are really keen about providing the best experience for the passengers. It’s a real achievement if you do cross the Antarctic Circle as most don’t. The Arctic is much easier.View attachment 150133 I am going to skip forward a lot - most of the photos are going to have to wait but I will try and post this one that I just took
Because we have had such amazing weather the Silver Cloud turned South yesterday and we are heading for the Antarctic Circle - she has never been this far South before. Ms FM and I have our patches on again

this morning was heaps of fun. Crossed the circle and had an initiation ceremony and then there was a polar plunge - Ms FM and SIL did it - Mr FM took photos. Unfortunately Ms FM and Mr FM are rather sea sick again, so photographs will have to wait. That’s the beauty of expedition cruises, staff/officers play it by ear and are really keen about providing the best experience for the passengers. I can imagine all that unpacking especially in this summer heat. Jet lag. Frustration with Qantas. Trip over. Washing. Yuck I hate coming home.Jet lagged and waiting for Mr Photographer to decide which ones make the cut?
Only got home today? Sorry, thought it was a day or so ago. That jet lag will kick in soon. Finally made it home at 10am this morning and have been madly unpacking and washing. We have to get the fur babies later. Apparently my fur babies bullied the beagles and wouldn’t let them sit on the couch in the doggie apartment. However the beagles stole the fur babies food, so it appears to have been fun and games
When my photographers recover enough to give me photos, I will start posting again. We are about to get Brown Bluff and Hope Bay I think - stunning ice shots with lovely blue colour, although all I will get will probably be Adelie penguins. I shall have to be more demanding
Nah, that was the problem with the luggage. Qantas held them up because being in J class meant their luggage got tagged as being the very last lot off the plane and they missed a connection.Only got home today? Sorry, thought it was a day or so ago. That jet lag will kick in soon.
Dunno about favourite. I was besotted with them all! As well as the cute little chinstraps, I loved the Kings and their wooly babies, the Adelie quizzical looks and the antics of the Gentoos. Hard to pick a real favourite. Then of course we have the Chin Strap penguins - LtL's favourites and more Gentoos who are everywhere.View attachment 150789 View attachment 150790 View attachment 150791 View attachment 150792
