World's biggest plane, Antonov An-225 Mriya, making first trip to Australia in two weeks bringing a power generator from Prague.

Tenatively scheduled Arrival
Sun 15 May 2016: 10.00AM

Departure
Wed 18 May 2016: 6:00AM

I'm no good at photography, but I'm planning to be around the airport for arrival and departure to at least see it close up.

I was talking to someone who works at the airport and they've already heard that 15,000 people are coming from over east!!! Lot of nerds in the country ;-)

15,000! That sounds a little bit over the top I would have thought. That is 50 wide body worth of flights just to get everyone there, highly doubt it!

I would travel to see the Spruce Goose. Not the Antonov. Amazing though it is :)

I have travelled to see the Spruce Goose. I should get a clear view from my home of the Antonov landing or taking off :).

I remember rushing out of class to watch the Concorde pass over head (high school was on a flight path into PER) not sure this aircraft stirs the same excitement in me.

Wonder what Fedex charge for that delivery. Does someone have to sign for it? You wouldn't want to find the "sorry we missed you slip" under the door.

Delivery is free for >$100 spend :p.

Anyone know what the departure time is on the 17th. I fly into Perth about 4:00pm on the 17th May.

Absolutely bummed I didn't know this plane was coming in. Saw it on the news and am over this way now! Would have been able to make the landing. Not departure though:(

What an amazing sight that must have been! cool having the iron maiden plane there too. I'm very impressed with the bird!
