Just received an email confirming something that seemed to be the case for a while anyway but now officially, all reward activity will extend points balance validity For a further 12 mths.

Previously it needed to be a hotel stay at least every 12 mths.

Tranfering points in from e-Rewards has extended Accor points validity for some time, despite the Terms and Conditions stating that was not the case. I have successfully extended the validity of my points twice with this method.

At least now Accor have clarified the rules and made all earning activity reset the expiry date. But my understanding is that it is only earning points that extend validity; spending points does not. This is something they still need to address.

Yes, that’s been my experience (with e-Rewards and their own “ClubOpinion” points).

I‘ve never done it, but I believe you can earn a couple of points by dining/drinking at a participating property and flash your ALL Accor card. That should be an easy option for some?

This LL article also reiterates that redeeming doesn’t count ie only “earn“ not just account activity.

Not sure what happens if you book points/pay reservation and then cancel?

Unfortunately ClubOpinions closed to new accounts
Yeah, it's often "by invitation" and usually with some promo of bonus points after signing up and 1st survey completed.

e-Rewards (which I believe is basically the same mob) tends to be more useful. Better points earning that you can accumulate and transfer to several programs (including Accor, Hilton, IHG, VA, UA, EY, BA, AA and several gift cards - if cash is preferable).

If you're a member of any of those other programs see if there is a link to join e-Rewards through them?

Few weeks ago, I lost, as it "expired" 800 ALL points.
I moaned to them via their feedback, that I was not going to book any more hotels directly with ALL.
They reinstated, but I am not a happy pooch.
I still am not going to book directly with ALL, no matter what, as their points will still expire as a rule of thumb, even if they keep extending it, but its in their rulebook that the points will expire, unlike VFF and QFF where points do not expire as long as there is any activity in 18 months for 1 and 24 months for the other.
With ALL, ways of earning points is still quite limited, either hotel stays, where their hotels have been used as covid quaro hotels, as in the many in Adelaide, or e-Rewards which they seem to have kicked me out of, no relevant surveys is what I keep getting...
Not sure if the 12 months extension was my moans to ALL, most likely not.
Some/most of the ALL hotels are very good/some quite good, but pity we can't have another way/more ways to/of keep(ing) our ALL accounts active/points alive.
Due to covid, I haven't done a lot of travel, so that 800 points went due to ""no stay activity"".

Has anyone found a quick and cheap way to earn a couple points (besides a stay or survey)?

SYD+1 has a couple of thousand pts about to expire. I’ve suggested transferring to QFF as the fallback or book a pts+pay stay but where and when…

As anyone tried online shopping via ALL Accor? Maybe a gift voucher?

If you near an Accor hotel, refreshment in the bar or restaurant, pay on the credit card to your account. Check your account Bank Cards, should have this under the card if linked "pay with this card in the restaurant to Earn Points".

If your in a lockdown area, this one may be out of the question.

Yep, that was one of the hypothetical options I mentioned a few weeks ago (we were in lockdown). We of course emerge from lockdown at midnight but going to an Accor property bar/restaurant wasn't high on the priority list :). TBH, not even sure which ones in and around SYD would be worth the while?

BTW, for those playing at home and pondering the online shopping option - I can confirm that Apple e-Giftcard/vouchers don't award points. When you click through the various shopping options, it should state what the exclusions are.

The Ts&Cs state that it can take up to 60 days for points to credit.

Wait for the points to go, and then write an terse email to ALL's Sydney office.
That is what I did.
I had a confirmed Novotel Southbank hotel booking, for June this year, my points went just before that, but guess no human checks it out, so my 800 points, as mentioned above, were taken from my account for no activity.
After they went, I wrote an email to ALL and got the points back, they said in the email this was a once off, so the points life extension, I am not sure if its because of my email, or they (ALL) have realised a lot of their members can't go anywhere due to covid restrictions.
In my email, I said I would not be ever booking directly with ALL again, till they change their rules.
I will be booking via QF hotels from on, at least in this case, we can keep activity alive.
My ALL account still has no spot to enter my QFF account number, for moving points.
Read on here, I think, that the agreement between ALL and QFF is not fully in operation yet, for points transfer.

So two days before the above mention points were about to expire, I was asked to show how to xfr to QFF. To which I said, it’s a pity you couldn’t get e-Rewards to work.
The response: I have that, it was ClubOpinion that didn’t work.
Oh, how many points do you have? A: a couple of thousand.

🤯

A quick transfer from e-Rewards to ALL Accor ensued and the very next day said points landed and expiry date shifted by 12 mths!

SYD+1 says oh, I might do more e-Rewards surveys now that I know they’re useful….

Its good if you meet/match the "requirements" that e-rewards stipulate, ie, they have "relevant surveys" for you.
They can also be quite mean, in the case when it says "no suitable surveys"/or because I haven't done any surveys in a long time, always have had "no suitable surveys", that I got on with life and didn't use e-rewards.
Then I thought about having a look see, but forgot my password, now they won't send a password reminder.
I started with e-rewards because I stayed at an Accor hotel once, about 5 years ago.
Well, so be it.
Will be booking via QFF from now on.

For VFF members, there’s currently an Offer of 750 bonus points after signing up to e-Rewards and completing you first survey. Depending on how they set the account up through this VFF signup page, you should still be able to accrue e-Reward points and then transfer to All Accor (or other travel partners, vouchers etc).

This link should have “Receive 750 bonus Velocity points when you complete your first survey!”. If not, go via VFF “Offers” page:

Do you have an email address for the Accor office? I’ve tried phoning several times and each time it says the message box is full and there is no option to leave a message. I’ve searched the website for an email contact form without success.

[email protected]

Should work for most enquires. I usually find they respond in 1 or 2 days.

Yep, SYD got it.
That is the one that they used to reply to me.
They in the email kept saying, if no activity in 365 days, points will expire lah lah lah.
That Simon guy is leaving, I think he was the head of ALL/Accor Asia Pacific.
Maybe new area regional manager might send something up the chain, of command, I don't hold much hope, but who knows, maybe thing will change.
I know that ALL have now formed a agreement with QF, but still ((not happy ******))...
Will book my hotels via QFF from now on.
Found this:
Mr McGrath had gone to Crown, so I guess they have not changed the data on the pixs of their global zones CEOs.

Thanks AustraliaPoochie
I sent the email yesterday, they ‘promise’ a reply within 24 hours so let’s see.

Was just about to book at our local Mecure for a night of fun & frivolity to extend my considerable points balance and I received this email from ACCOR PLUS;
Dear Dr Bob,
To thank you for your loyalty, and in recognition of your status, we are pleased to advise that we have extended the validity of your Reward points until 15 December 2022.

So all good for another year.
