How about meeting over at the tounge and groove over the road from sammy's at 5:30 for a drink first?
 
At this point, you may put me down as likely. My wife isn't keen at coming along to talk with a bunch of plane nerds like me. Fair enough. So please just add me to the booking.

Didn't realise this thread was here till *A Flyer messaged me last night asking if I was attending.

Suffice to say, I will be.

Still on the fence re. grabbing a drink at TnG as I have a couple of errands to run between finishing work and dinner, but who knows, might push them back to the weekend and have a pint instead ;)
 
I'm a maybe for a drink and a no for dinner tonight but happy to pursue the August 3 dinner. My wife gave a hasty 'good god no!' when I asked if she would like to come..

Is there a secret handshake for Tongue and Groove or will everyone be wearing a red carnation in their lapel?

Look for the guy wearing an all black suit with a black shirt... The secret password to join the group is "hey you guys the AFF guys?"
 
I should be at the TnG by 5:30pm. I'll be looking out for harvyk in his black suit and shirt and RG1 in his purple check.

Guess I'll have to find something else to do with this red carnation... I should know by 4~ish whether I'll be there or not in my Canberra winter uniform of tie free Friday shirt, grey trousers and grey coat..

If I don;t make it I wish everyone a good night and hope to catch up in August.

I hope we do see you tonight at TnG even for a few minutes. I'll arrive at about 5:15. Black jacket, green shirt and cream trousers. (Casual as that's all I try and do these days.)

You will have to 'politely advise' your wife that many 'normal' wives are seen at AFF and FT get togethers and DOs. If she was in Canberra tonight my wife would happily come along. We have met many really great people through AFF and FT over the years and formed some quite close friendships.

Well leaving work now, will be there in however long it takes to drive from Fyshwick to the city.
 
Work has got the better of me today so I wont be able to come in (even though I'd kill for a beer right now).

And I'm sure my wife would enjoy everyone's company too, she just goes into a mental haze if you mention things like JASA, status run, WP etc etc :-)

Catch up next time for sure.
 
The CBR crowd are very quiet this morning. Did they have a big night out? Or not yet bailed out? Or too old to be up this early? ;)

Let's hope they all had a great time and will tell us about it soon.
