Well, at least you have closure on it now. It is possible EK's original claim that the event was extraordinary circumstances, to the extent it is excluded from Eu261, might have legs.

Yes, it was definitely worth a try. I have to say, although Flightright were unsuccessful they were pretty good with updates and asking for extra information.
