Any tricky ways to keep AA miles alive?

Was wondering there are any tricks like installing a search tool bar etc.

Was hoping to not have to buy any more miles for the time being (especially with the merger) and obviously no prospects of using them anytime soon.

Last year my daughter donated 100 miles to one of AA's chosen charities which kept her account alive for another 18 months.

AA has(did have?) a search toolbar. But was hard to get miles

Yes, transferring a single point into AA via points.com works.

It is probably too late for you now but AA has just recently launched a free online game that earns you 500 miles plus a comp entry.

Technically it is only meant for Americans but I have done such games before and the miles have posted fine. Apparently takes a couple of weeks for the miles to turn up.

You need to get the Star (Last week that gave a 10% fare discount).

I did it twice and no [-]Cigar[/-] Star ... :-|

Here's the blog that I got the comp from. I got my wife to follow the instructions and we got the miles (I'm blind so can't do it myself) so maybe we were just lucky:
