Anyone been able to change their review date?

Over Xmas / NY I flew 6 sectors with UA. I had my VA number against the booking but used UA miles to upgrade 3 of the sectors (from Premium Plus to Business). The 3 non upgraded sectors posted within 2 days of flying. I wasn't particularly surprised to see the 3 upgraded sectors didn't post (due to the class assigned to upgrades most likely).

I retro claimed for the 3 missing sectors and one posted no problem using the correct booked class. However the other 2 for which the circumstances were identical have been a total schmozzle when dealing with Velocity...but finally today, after a lot of calls this week, have posted.

The problem is this...the 3 outbound sectors pushed me from Gold to Plat...and one of them was the easy retro claim. Based on activity date I would've qualified for Platinum on 24 DEC 22. However, my review date is based on the PROCESSED DATE of the retro claim for that flight...13 JAN 23. The 2 flights that have credited today were on 6 JAN 23...so not only is only Gold 75% bonus applied, but worse from my perspective...the 180 status credits earned are not counting towards Plat requalification.

Based on how hard it was to get Velocity to understand the circumstances of the UA flights I feel like I have no chance of explaining the issue above! Has anyone had this type of situation where a review date can be retrospectively updated to get correct credit for retro claims?

In individual situations like this, where each scenario will differ (timing, no of points/credits/sectors, status level, partners), it's better to just contact their platinum service desk directly yourself for assessment, as it's highly unlikely any scenario will be exactly the same as yours.

I've found their premium customer service helpful and this is matched by other reports, so I'd suggest it worthwhile for you. This is different from just retrospective points claims which are a standard process, albeit different processes and times based on partner and booking class.

Yes I have already had that conversation...the poor guy, who I have had some tense discussions with already this week about the original retro claim, called me up to tell me the good news that the retro claims had been posted. I expressed my gratitude...but...!

It took a long time for him to understand the issue...he simply couldn't get that the missing 180SCs weren't being counted based on a rolling 12 months and that anything that happened prior to 13 Jan 23 didn't count towards requalification...I think we got there in the end but I am not hopeful of a positive resolution.

Something similar. I took their Switcheroo status match, and qualified for Plat during the 3 month promo period, which ended (from memory) mid December. Review date abt 13 December with 'review pending' posted. I flew a number of VA domestic flights over the Christmas period. The 'review' was finally done mid January and my new review date was abt 15 January, so I missed the Christmas flights being credited to retaining Plat.

I e-mailed the Plat team asking for either the review date to be put back to the 'original' mid December one, or the Dec-Jan flights be credited after the new review date. They replied quickly and personally .... but no dice :(

@bcworld notwithstanding I wasn't successful, maybe you can e-mail them and try again?

I just went thru the 2 week 'review period' where the account shows review blah, but I received an email or message or something to the notion of any flights you taking during the review period will count towards your next year status period.

maybe your instance differs due to upgrade, mine was WP to WP. stills seems a stiff deal.

So I ended up getting the issue above resolved. I'd initially spoken to someone about 9 days ago who just didn't get it but promised a same day call back...which never came. I tried again yesterday and the agent immediately understood. She also couldn't understand why the first agent felt it necessary to create an escalation to a different team to deal with it. A few hours later they processed a status credit reversal for the activity date and added status credits for the first day of my benefit year, so the 180SCs now count towards Plat requal. They also correctly calculated the difference between Gold and Plat tier bonuses and added those points. All good!
