Is the main resort pool at the Sheraton Beach Resort near APW currently in use? The photos on the website still look a bit 'doctored' or is it just me? Has anyone stayed here recently?
Or, have you ever stayed at the other Sheraton in downtown Apia - Aggie Grey's Hotel & Bungalows? How does that compare? My understanding is that they might be doing renovations there at present. The grounds at the beach resort looks a little nicer.
I'm wondering if my wife might prefer Aga Reef Resort or Taumeasina Island Resort. Any recommendations here, folks? We like snorkeling and nice beaches, swimable water (!) and large clean pools.
Although, the Sheraton's location to the airport would do us well at least for the start and finish of our trip (1:30am arrival and a 5:00am departure - sorry, dear!)
Any other tips while you're at it? The island is much larger than the Cooks where we went last year. We might hire a car for three days just to zip around – we'll be there only a week. And yes, I know that Samoa is not the Cooks, nor Fiji for that matter. It does, however, look a little better than TBU where we'll end up on the way home... (to add, any TBU hotel suggestions too?)
