Anyone else noticed a lack of availability

I'm not really a VA flyer (at least not until Life Time Gold with Qantas) but are you saying there is no Y in either January or February (up to latest date opened)?

That would be weird (not Jan being totally blank for awards but Jan and Feb would be).

No Y in Feb in either direction except on the Sydney Delta flights.

It is most likely they have only released half and they have sold out, I would suggest contacting VA directly about this query as you obviously just want to argue with people on here.

According to VA they have not released any award seats in 2017 from LAX yet. They could not give me a time or even if they will be available. But of course, I according to those who think they are high and mighty, it was all my fault and I missed the flights by snoozing.

Another option could be that all the flights were sold out by full paying Y pax, No one is being "High and Mighty" they are just offering you some advice and experiences that you asked for when you joined AFF, If VA have yet to release award seats then that would be unusual but possible knowing them.

I'm not sure anyone said you missed by snoozing just that they are snapped up VERY quickly WHEN they are released and they are very easy to miss.

Award flights are very limited at best and often very rare. In this case if they have not been released it is probable that VA believe they will sell all the seats to people with $$$s to spend rather than points. These things come and go a bit though you are looking at a high traffic period so I'm not all that surprised.

Have you looked at the points and pay options? I find then very good value on VA and they are often available when straight award tickets are not.

Ye, I've been successful booking mel-lax in J ....Still waiting to find just one day with availability from lax-mel...Just can't see it anywhere
