I'm not sure if I would want to travel in J with my 3yr old. I qite like the idea of sitting in Y with the armrest upm so we can both spread ourselves around. The bulkhead rows are even better as the space in front is almost another play area. IMO, the cost for putting a toddler In J just doesn't stack up.

do Children get discounts in J like they would for a Y ticket?

Problem for me is that I have zero interest in traveling in whY so next year I am stuck with a four year old in J with me. The marginal cost is 100K points - I guess I can live with that...

I want to ban the $&#%*}^ clowns who bash the IFE touch screen in the back of my seat every 47 minutes and wake me up. Oh and the pushy suit wearing clowns who seem to think they are the only people on an aircraft.

Once they're gone the kids are no longer a problem.

I support kids in business, they need to aspire to it, get good jobs so they can keep the old man to the life he is accustomed to.

I know generalisations are not good but at the same time uncontrolled kids running up and down the aisles is not good for anyone either.

Have I missed anything? Rather than post in full just select the number and add the required number of dots to fulfill the character requirements for posting!!!!:p :p
I think you have covered most of it. A DYKWIA but ever the diplomat! :p

My sons first flight was in J and he slept the whole way from CBR - BNE (and the same on the way back). I must say that since becoming a parent I view crying kids on planes with a lot more compassion.

Headphones work wonders.

Sometimes I find children of all ages better behaved than many adults!

From a personal perspective of someone that doesn't have any children, but works with them daily, I prefer my holidays to be as child free as possible. I'm sure that will all change when I have one of my own!

Sorry PLANT, I guess the cricket game on board was a bad idea?

C'mon! I had to keep those kids occupied somehow after the iThingy ran out of battery.

You know you've hit a six when the ball makes it to the First Class cabin, btw.

:) :) :)

So that's where that ball that knocked over my 3rd Taittinger came from!

Had them running up and down the aisles on International VA flight....bang bang the floor went as trying to sleep...or at least strict rules enforced!

I agree with the OP - keep kids out of J. My 2yr old has only flown F internationally to date and I hope that I can afford to keep it that way.

Had an 11 month old in 5A (QF A380) on my way home from HKG - if I hadn't been chatting to her father before the flight you wouldn't have known she was there.

Perhaps like the 'June 2012' threads there should be a 'Under 18s in J/F' thread so we can post flights that you might want to avoid...

What is the difference between your kid being in F, and kids being in J?

Again, it is not the age, it is the behaviour that is the issue here...

Children under 10 years of age should be given an oxygen mask upon check-in and then strapped to the wing during the flight.
Failing that, they could stow them in a childrens crate in the luggage hold. Doesn't have to be one like what pets are stowed in. They don't deserve such luxury.
All jokes aside, kids are kids. They don't have the maturity to think about anything other than themselves. Parents are the ones to blame. Ban kids from business class? No.

I suspect there was a fair amount of tongue in cheek in the post you're referring to. :)

Ha ha, It's OK. I got the joke.

But if my 4yo was running up and down the aisle keeping me awake, I would stow her in the luggage hold myself! It's about behaviour, and when your talking about minors, look to the parents.
