Anyone flying on Christmas Day?

I love hosties with xmas bauble earrings... From experience it seems to depend on individual aircraft crew. There used to be a mince pie or two served up and candies handed out by enthusiastic crew.

Deck the Halls and a Ho Ho Ho..:)

I flew Qantas this one time and all the pilots were wearing red ties. Those guys get into the Christmas spirit waaay early.

;-)

I have done it many times over the years as my parents live in NQ and other half's family live in BNE.

Lounges are very easy to find a seat.

Staff are happier than usual but when you land there is many people to greet the flights.

I would travel on Xmas day than Xmas eve.

I'll be working. Worked last year. Sigh.

I'm flying BNE-BDB on QFLink - not expecting much - although I am looking forward to taking the family into the Brisbane J lounge for the first time - MrsPablo will start to understand more of the WP privileges (taking her to the SYD F lounge next weekend on our way to Bali too).

Do they normally do anything special in the lounge?

Nothing at all really but I have only done Dom lounges.

I'm flying this Christmas Day. It's a bit out of left field this one.... Kazan-Bangkok on Nordwind. (Russian charter airline) Depart Kazan at 9:30pm December 24th & arrive Bangkok 10:30am December 25th. :)

You're not wrong there! :) An interesting lot to be flying with.

I don't think I have ever flown Christmas Day preferring to fly Boxing Day or even Christmas Eve.

That is about to change this Christmas though with a SYD-HKG flight on VS....

I've flown a few times on Xmas day with Qantas, both Intl and Dom.. Nothing out if the ordinary at all for me. Just a "..and have a happy Christmas and a happy new year."- From the capt after the arrival announcement

Not flying, but start nightwork xmas night. 7 nights, so also working new years eve as well, double bonus.

Which brings the question; To people flying, is it for work or flying home to be with family, or flying off for holiday?

I always wanted to do Boxing Day test, xmas in Melbourne, but alas no children, so pretty much have to hope for RD;s on those days, to get down there.

I'm flying on Christmas Day (as mentioned) and Boxing Day. Flying to be with family (but not "home").

I'm also flying for Christmas related stuff on the 15th, 16th, 22nd and 23rd.

We are flying BNE - AKL Christmas day. We noticed that the prices were markedly cheaper on the 25th compared to other days, so that was a nice bonus. Fly back on NYE during the afternoon.

First time ever flying on Xmas day , going Darwin/Singapore /Kota Kinabalu with Silk Air - looking forward to it ,should be interesting!
