I used to get a check-in reminder for my VA flights at T-48 so could jump in and move up the plane a bit - as a SG I am only able to book row 7 in advance it seems. The two flights I did last week had no reminders and my first flight this week is less than 24 hours away and I've received no reminder. I just checked in anyway as I remembered but when I went to the seat map I saw there were lots of seats up front - usually I am lucky to get row 4 but that was empty and I even managed 3F. So perhaps others have left it later due to no reminders?

I'd be interested to hear if others are getting email reminders and at about what time before flying?

Are the bookings made with VA direct or via a 3rd party web site ?

I flew OOL>MEL this morning and got two email reminders on Saturday night (exactly T-36) within 5 minutes of each other.

I'm flying NTL/BNE tomorrow on an award ticket but have not received a check-in email. Is it because I have booked an Award fare?

I always book directly with the VA website.

Got reminders about car hire (which I'd organised via VA) so that side is working.

Likewise. Double emails for the last dozen or so flights over the last couple of months, usually 36-48 hrs prior.

Yep, I've gotten two reminders at the same time for quite a while now. Perhaps we're eating up their reminder quota? ;)

This weekend we got single reminder emails for flights that were the next day. No email received for "free" flights booked as Amex credit card reward.

Finally got mine overnight for a flight tomorrow morning... must have been a delay from the weekend outage they had

I used to get the reminder emails at T-48 hours but recently the reminder emails have been at T-36 hours or even T-24 hours.

Similarly, I always used to receive my reminders at T-48, but I've noticed that the last few have been T-36 to T-24 hours. I haven't been receiving double emails though. I've actually been wondering what has brought about this change, I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who has noticed.

Strangely enough, on April 16 I got an e-mail reminding me to check in at T-36; however I had already checked in at T-48!

I always seem to get double emails for every flight, usually at about T-24 at which point I've already checked in.

I got mine for the return flight at T-24 so I checked in. When I tried to check in before the email I kept getting "technical problems" ("have you tried turning it off and turning it on again?") so I wasn't sure if I just couldn't check in then (T-48 on) or it really was a "teknikal isshoo".
