Anyone had recent success with reward bookings flying China Airlines?

Would like to make a classic reward booking Brisbane/Sydney to Japan (flexible on arrival airport) in J for 2 in October/November this year. I appreciate that is unlikely. Jetstar comes up but no thanks.

Recall reading that China Airlines can be booked using QANTAS points but nothing showing up for them. I then followed a Points Hack guide to try a multi city option with first flight to Taipai but nothing came up.

Has anyone had any recent experience for QANTAS classic rewards on China Airlines in J?

They no longer release 2 seats in J on most medium- to long-haul flights. 1 only.

Thanks for that - will try one booking in J then with another in PE. I guess i will be in PE and the wife in J!
