Oh the irony… VA's Etihad alliance promo (currently on the VA homepage) links to here:
https://www.virginaustralia.com/au/...tihad-airways/?cmpid=hp_201605_middle#lounges

Which still touts:

Etihad First Class Lounge at Abu Dhabi International Airport is all about style, space and serenity. Enjoy the comfort and space to work or relax before your flight. The first class lounge features the world-renowned Six Senses Spa, with its range of 15-minute treatments; Champagne Bar with a choice of the finest beverages in the world; Cigar Lounge; and fine dining.

If there's no EY F lounge access in AUH, that really makes connecting in AUH as a VA plat flying Y or J a lot less attractive, when it otherwise would've been the obvious choice?

The VA Lounge Access Guide does not mention the First Class Lounge at AUH, only the Premium Lounge, so I would presume the answer is No.

I accessed the Etihad First lounge in Abu Dhabi today, courtesy of my Alitalia Frecia Alata Plus membership.

What a lounge!

I was the only passenger in the lounge for a good hour, during which I had the undivided attention of a simply outstanding French maitre'd. Unbelievably professional and knowledgeable.

The lounge itself is exactly what you'd expect from Etihad. The creams and whites of their signature. Excellent a la carte dining. Ample seating. Two expansive bars. The spa. Style and Shave . . . Truly first class.

Hi there,

Thank you for your lovely comments and we look forward to welcoming you back soon. *Jiaqi

Great lounge. As a VA Platinum in the Etihad First Class Lounge received a free massage followed by a nice hot shower. Top class and felt pampered. First class all the way.

I was in there a couple of weeks ago.

Whilst large, and the lounge staff very friendly and attentive, I didn't find the breakfast offering very appealing.

My Eggs Benedict was absolutely beautiful, followed by a Macallan 18 (well I was still on Brisbane time).

My partner, a Velocity platinum travelling business came through Abu Dhabi on 26 Sept at night and Etihad actually told him he could use the First class lounge.
He said a it was lot less crowded than the other one. He wasn't across all the things on offer and sorry he didn't do the massage. The food off the a la carte menu was apparently great.

Does anyone have experience with going MEL - AUH in F, then AUH - Europe (or anywhere) in J the same day.

While i expect the answer is no, will i get access to the F lounge in AUH?

Id really like to see the F lounge

Just came through the F Lounge as VA Plat on J ticket. A quality experience.

New Emirates Palace tasting menu was lovely, managed a massage and quick shower.

Enjoyed it all.

I can't say absolutely but I suspect not, unless you have VA platinum or EY?

Is your onward flight on EY or Etihad airways partner? You'd get J lounge at least.

Only reason I say the above is I flew EY to AUH in Y, and wasn't allowed access to the J or F lounge because my onward flight was on Alitalia (bought from EY). On the return I was allowed access as my flight departing AUH was EY.

So although you're flying F I doubt (but don't know for sure) that you'd be allowed arrival access to EY F lounge. I think they will base entry on your onward boarding pass.

Hopefully the Etihad representative can give you a more definitive answer.

EtihadAirways, it's fantastic to have your presence here but may I suggest providing a response to a query 52 weeks after it was posted is, well, very average at best.

locopano, if you're connecting from F to J and your onward flight is serviced by 2-cabin aircraft (i.e. there is no F), you may be granted access to the F lounge... although I haven't tried this myself. If it's a 3-cabin aircraft onwards, I believe the answer is always no.

Perhaps EtihadAirways could respond to your query sometime in the next year? ;)

Can anyone confirm if Shave still offer gents haircuts? On the EY website it now only lists wet shave as an F lounge perk

Sitting in the F lounge in AUH just now after getting EY 463. I was the only passenger in F !!J had 3 seats empty and Y was full. Nice to have one hostie and the chef to myself. I let the chef have full licence with the food I just told him what I was going to drink and he chose the food to suit. Very y satisfying F experience

Hi there, apologies for the delay! Do you have a booking reference we could check so we can better advise on this? Also do you have an Etihad Guest Number? *Sky
