Anyone heard of final-flights.com?

My initial and only thought is scam! I feel so sorry for people who are that desperate for a cheap airfares and fall for these types of scams.

Looks like the site has been taken down. And nobody is reporting any contact beyond the initial auto-response email for several days. So looks like someone has caught up with the alleged fraudster.

I think we've heard of final-flights for the final time.

I wonder in what name it will be re-born?
Website is still up now.

Still analysing what it does, and whether it is malicious or not ... but not a good idea to be looking yourself!
Too late, I had to have a look!

Red Roo, it's nice that you updated us with what QF is doing regarding this alleged shonky TA.

I've no doubt that the members here experienced in IT enjoyed researching and providing the information, as there is no place in our society for these types.

Drinks on you in the QP next time we fly, as thanks? :p

When you can, are you able to give a quick run-down of the setup involved? We don't want the full details, and I know some will be corporate sensitive, some may be legally sensitive and some may be unwanted by QF to be in the public sphere - but it would be nice to find out a little more about the whole scheme and what they were up to.

While it might be nice for Red Roo to do that for us, at the same time - as you alluded to - you don't really want to be opening up any can of worms.

At worst, it could be potentially leaking sensitive information, or at best it could mean people here won't stop accosting Red Roo on the issue (i.e. an explanation given, followed by more follow-up questions, and so on ad nauseum).

Oh and btw, I do agree with the poster regarding the poor customer service at QANTAS. I felt that they weren't at all trying to assist customers in detecting a scam or even try to look into it, nor did they want to listen to my concerns or explanations. All they wanted to do was identify the booking reference number and say that it's a perfectly valid ticket. I told them exactly how purchase was made etc, none of them were concerned! It was only my 5th phone call where they took my concerns seriously and that's only because I got through to the Reservations team through the Security line.

They were rude and unfriendly anyway. Even if I did not have a concern, it was certainly a intolerable customer experience. I was yelled at numerous times and when you ask a question, they are more annoyed than helpful.

I know it :( My only intention was to make as many people as aware as possible about this, including AFP etc etc - and knowing that the tickets "Final-Flights" were offering were mostly V Australia and QANTAS, I thought that they should both know. But alas, apparently I was being "audacious" in doing so LOL......polite customer service goes along way which is why I haven't flown with some airlines in particular in a long time.

I'm really glad you guys didn't end up getting caught up in it, which is very very easy to do. Many people who are not frequent travelers would not have known any of the signs suggesting it was a scam. The scum bags probably made off with 100's of 1000's of dollars.
