Where did you find this minimum spend requirement? My card T&C's refer only to the account being open and not in breach of card Conditions of Use.
 
Applied Monday. Missed phone call on Thursday night. Called back Friday morning to clarify a few queries and card is approved and arriving this week. Too easy.
