For plat it's $6k per card (Amex/Visa) per month = $144k ... the base card is set at half that.
Are pople actually planning on keeping this card and using it post the bonus points? Personally think there are better cards around but wont turn down 50K points!!

They usually waive the annual fee for wanting to cancel...

I need to ring them within a weeknof so, to get another year fee free!

I'm keeping the Black. Uncapped and CBR friendly.

SWMBO got excited and applied for the Plat after being approved for the Black......funny thing is - the credit limit for the Plat is like x4 what she has been granted on the Black. So I started digging to confirm the cap limit for the plat....lets just say come sometime in 2015 the Plat will be given the scissor work and the Black will remain in both our wallets.

Sorry if this is a silly question but, if the Biller already accepts credit card what is the advantage of using Bpay instead of just using the credit card to pay directly? Wouldn't you still get the same points ratio?

You might find some organisations that want to charge you a credit card surcharge if you use their merchant facilities; but fail to apply this surcharge to BPay transactions :)

I plan to cancel once the points are in. BTW, points for one card only it seems. Got 3 but no points for the other 2.

The moment the bonus points come in, I'll be cancelling. This 'points capping' nonsense just adds to the reasons you can give.

That's my plan. When they post me out the notice about the points capping, that's when I'll call up and use that as an excuse to cancel. The 50k points have already posted thankfully.

Yep canceled mine this morning, was offered an additional $6000 limit but declined.

Whole process took less than 5 minutes, done and dusted.... didn't need an excuse as such but did mention i had too many cards and decided this was the one to go.

What's the point of extra limit if the points are capped...

I wonder if this points capping will apply to ANZ Platinum cards opened up years ago?

If so I'm in a LOT of trouble. Last month earned just a few points short of 100K.

Slightly OT but rang Qantas C U to cancel my Platinum Visa. Thought they might have offered to waive the $195 fee but no such luck.

If your spending 100K in a month then your best option is probably to move to the black card which remains uncapped.

Cancelling both mine and Mrs Ansett's Card. Wonder how many customers ANZ will now lose?

Even waiving the fee though is a hassle if you really don't want/need the card!

Still waiting for the bloody points... Been in freezer since first and only transaction to meet spend requirements!!!!!!
