ANZ don't have the soon to be required online option?

My statement just arrived in the mail today (with the annual fee so I need to call to cancel). There is a little note advising from 1st Jan Ill be able to cancel online as will a decrease the credit limit.

Edit: Just called. All they can offer is a halving of the annual fee. What are the other cards people are considering? St George Amplify or Qantas Premium Platinum look like ok alternatives for 12 months.

I'm looking too. Best I can see is St george 80k QFF for $179 fee. Westpac Altitude Platinum 60k for $0 fee too.
Anything else?

Qantas Premium Platinum for $149 first year. You'd only get 70k of the sign-up bonus though and the next 30k is after 12 months and paying the full annual fee on renewal. Earns 1 QFF point per dollar up to 10k/month. Probably the better option I'm thinking.

Thanks :) im a low spender so I guess st george better for me. Contemplating a simultaneous app with the amx explorer ..

If you qualify, the HSBC Premier World Mastercard is 1ppd for QFF with a $99 AF up to 10,000 per statement.

Called today to close the account. It was the shortest and easiest account closure I have ever experienced!

Account now marked as closed on Credit Savvy.

I was wondering how long that would take and I'm glad to see it wasn't too long so I can embark on the next churn without being concerned about the impact of this card on future applications.

Cleared the $2.5k hurdle today..... How long to points arrive in QFF account?

Mine are set to post at the end of the third statement. Reached spend limit in first statement period.

If you have the card with bonus 75 SC offer, how long after the flights did it take for the SC's to be credited to your QFF account? I'm trying to see if I can time them so that the flights credit during the current QFF membership year and bonuses to next year.

Another question is about the qualifying bookings for the bonus SC's. The T&C's say in a rather generic form "using your ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card, book and travel on 2 new domestic or international Qantas operated flights with a Qantas (QF) flight number". If I have a gift voucher (with the PNR already created) and want to redeem it and pay the balance using the ANZ card (this is when it'll be ticketed), woudl that qualify? Anyone tried? The ANZ customer services chat just asked me to call their call centre (highly suspect they'd be operating from the same knowledge base, anyway)... o_O

Heck, with 500k you could fly RTW in First!

A One World Classic flight reward would set you back 480k Qantas points for a RTW trip in first class. Of course, this only suits you if you're travelling solo. If you have a travel partner then you can both fly RTW in Business for 280k QFF points each. Both options are a superb way of cashing in your 500k points.

420k, unless things have changed in the past few months :)

Have you ever done a RTW trip in First?

420k F oneworld awards are not RTW and are great value. I've done a few. They are certainly possible.
how come? If you have one leg in F, and then the rest in J, you have to pay the full 420k which sux, but you can virtually do a RTW trip and visit a heap fo countries
