ANZ removing points earn on ATO payments

Received a letter today informing me that the Business Rewards Visa is reducing to 0.5/$1 for ATO.
I recently cancelled this card but it might be better than nothing.

Put 33k through at 11pm last night, 26th - bit of a gamble but what the hell. "Not in- can't win"

Points didn't post so emailed them twice - was told to b^gger off as the payment was "processed" on 29th, after 27th cut-off date, despite me pointing out that the "transaction" date on the statement clearly said 26th. A bit annoyed but no surprise there. Gave up.

Imagine my surprise when I logged in today to find the disputed points in the account!! Under the heading of "re-allocated points" or some such exception.
Good one ANZ or should I say banking ombudsman??
Wonder why the turnaround?
