Credit Card Offers ANZ Rewards Black Offers & Discussion

Seems the 4 months was a bit of a stretch… signup bonus appeared in the rewards account about 5 days after the statement was issued so 15% bonus it is. God knows why I need to call and speak to somebody even after submitting it online. Seems ANZ is just very backwards at all levels.

Which statement ? First or second ?

I wonder if the credit of bonus points is dependent on past behaviour with previous editions wrt retention of card after receiving it .

Notice a few people had issues in the application. From a different perspective, I skated through without any.

Applied Tuesday night, the please provide 3 months payslips email came about an hour later. Uploaded right then.

Didn't hear a thing, then today (Thursday) I received the congratulations text at 8:58 am.

Doesn’t that just say you don’t earn points… not the spend trigger?

Well you're led there by the first load of small print on the ANZ black page saying "$2,000 worth of eligible purchases within 3 months of approval to receive the 180,000 bonus Rewards Points. Eligible purchase means purchases which are eligible to earn Reward Points." it notes a few of the usual ones not eligible, then refers you to the pds.

So by that, if you don't earn points, they don't count toward the bonus i.e. ATO.

Is it a bit stupid they can't highlight it all in one place.

Thank you. I wonder if their systems are that smart to distinguish - I don’t care about not earning the points but the spend might help trigger it faster….

ANZ, a bit stupid. Sounds right :)

Received two envelopes from ANZ today, one letter confirming that my ANZ FF Qantas Black card is closed, and another with my new ANZ Rewards Black card 😅
Surprised they keep approving my applications, 5th round on ANZ cards.

Process was painless and card arrived 4 business days after approval. Will probably credit towards Velocity

Recently applied for this card to replace my newly cancelled Amex VFF Platinum.
Current offer is:
- 180K ANZ rewards pts (=90K VFF).
- $375 annual fee, with $150 credit coming back after meeting spend.
- $3K spend in first three months.

Applied one evening; copied payslip over to their drop page a few days later, but was still getting ‘send your proof of income’ so, then had to email it to their CC applications email address. That’s done the trick and after about four days I have the approved email.

Card in the mail apparently.

I doubt it affects many of us, but the overseas transaction fee is increasing from 3% to 3.5% for the black rewards. Not sure about other anz products.

A surprising move given NAB has just scrapped the fee on their direct competing card (NAB Rewards Signature)

I’d suggest that the NAB move is the surprising one, not many FX fee free cards in the market these days so always good to see one bucking the trend.
