Credit Card Offers ANZ Rewards Platinum Card: 100,000 bonus ANZ points + $50 back

I emailed them and they said to ring 13 22 73. Which I just did then.

After quite some time on hold I was eventually told to expect the bonus in the "fourth fifth or sixth statement, but sometimes earlier". The bloke did confirm that i was eligible and had met the spend at least.

Over all, probably an hour of my life i will never get back. Listening to their annoying on hold music whilst doing a few jobs around the house.

My situation is worse as I’m actually overseas !

Oh yes. That would be challenging…

I asked him explicitly to confirm
The offer I was eligible for. So if you applied through the correct link you should be good. However, you may have to wait until the fourth fifth or sixth statement. Or earlier 😅.

I really do wonder how these people get a job!

While I'm not particularly impressed with PH and don't love the idea of supporting them financially (see discussion here), this Point Hacks offer nonetheless appears to be a pretty good deal.

Highlights of this deal include:
  • 75,000 bonus Velocity Points.
  • $50 back to your new card
  • $95 Virgin Australia travel credit
  • 30 Velocity Status Credits.
Annual fee is $95pa, or $45 in the first year after the credit.

For those that don't know, you'll still be entitled to the bonus points if you've held an ANZ QFF card within the last 12 months. The T&Cs only exclude you from the bonus points if you have held any of the ANZ Rewards or ANZ Travel Adventures cards within the previous 12 months.

Earn rates:
  • Earn 1.5 ANZ Reward Points for every $1 spent up to and including $2,000
  • Earn 0.5 ANZ Reward Point for every $1 spent over $2,000
looks like too many people took up the offer, because it has now been massively dialled back :(

3 days to ask for more documents - up to a week and a half after a complaint as we kept going in circle - and got approved.
Oh that is standard now with ANZ.
Get rejected, ring up and speak to their incompetent call center.
Forward documents three times and then put in a complaint and then get approved!.!

Applied 16 Jan 2023. Got an email asking for more documents. Provided all docs within the hour. No response yet. Will update as things progress.
Update: Received a phone call 2 days after submitting all the necessary documents, asking for more documents etc. Provided it very same day. No response for 3 more days. Then received another call Tuesday this week, which I couldn't answer. Replied to their text with a preferred time slot for call. Call received yday, asking for details, which are already provided in the application. Weird questions like ;

Agent - "what's your share of expenses" and

I said - "100%",

The agent on the phone goes, "So that's a lot of money to spend. Can you confirm how much is your expenses each month".

I replied "It is all in the application form that I submitted".

Agent goes "Yes, but I need to confirm the amount you have put in the form".

I asked "What is the amount that I have provided in the application form".

Agent says "$500/month".

I says "That's correct".

Now the issue with this conversation is that she has not confirmed anything. All was established is that I had her repeat what I had put in the form and confirmed it. The monthly expense could have been 5000 and I missed a zero and entered 500. There is no means to verify this yea? I seriously don't understand the purpose of these calls

The agent then asks for more documents to confirm salary ... I had already provided the 3 months pay slip, bank statements etc ... Anyways, I will be sending more documents tonight and hopefully that will be last of these weird requests.

That's fairly ridiculous.

For those who applied, did you receive a standard email stating the following?

Application number: X

Hi X,

Thank you for your application.

We will be in touch shortly, and may ask you for any further documentation we may need based on your circumstances.

You can find out more by reviewing your application documents
I got a subsequent email titled: "Action needed on your ANZ Credit Card application" with the exact content.

Trying to sus out whether I've been refused!

That sounds pretty standard for this inept outfit. Then as ADE stated above, they will keep ringing you and if you do not answer, refuse to give a direct number on which you can ring them back.
It really will be quite a process.

still waiting for the points from October promo .. called and rep said wait to finish until 3 statements - seems to be getting different answers - some 6 months wait and some 3 months wait and some got points in the first statement itself

I don't think the application has been declined. They *might* looking for additional information and the email had been sent before talking to you - most likely a sequencing error. If you are interested, you may give them a ring and ask whatsup. They'll ask for more details and then make a decision.

I still haven't got around to sending the details they asked for on Wednesday. Will need to do it today.

ANZ is known to send out the signup bonus points in the 2nd statement. That's how it has been for me (& a few others in this fourm). If you have not received it after th 2nd statement, give ANZ a call and ask.

I also understand that some of us might have to take the bonus points & cancel the card immediately - in which case the wait can be excruciating.
