Just baked ANZAC biscuits in my bbq .... How aussie is that ?

(Why? my kitchen is out of action)

My wife and son returned also noting the local service was packed to overflowing.

Now now watching the Anzac service with Mrs QF WP. Thinking of amaroo and medhead, who I know are both there.

Brilliant speech by the Turkish army representative in both Turkish and English.

Gregory Terrace & All Hallows' choir then sung - both local Brisbane schools.

Now it's time to PM Tony to speak.

Dawn Service in Cleveland. Great turn out.

I went to Gallipoli on a cold, windy, overcast day when only 20 or so other people there. Has haunted me for the last 15 years. Aim to be there for Anzac Day next time.

Have good friends and the grandchildren at home right now for early dinner

Awkward moment when one of the representatives did not turn up to lay his wreath - the wreath carrier did a fantastic job to stand until the next group and leave with them

My brother posted this picture of our Grandfather and brothers which is now uploaded to the Diggers memorial video.

He is in the middle. He was 17. He survived the war but in poor health and died in his forties.

Wow, that was a powerful service - I don't think my daughter has seen me cry so much.

Was lovely to see them acknowledge the local RSL members who have died in the past year and to see Cameron Bairds' brother lay a wreath.

Time for another cuppa and an Anzac biscuit.

The Currumbin service was televised. Agreed it was a powerful moment when Cameron Baird's brother laid a wreath.

I attended the Harbord Diggers RSL service. Just watched a good mini-doco on 10 about life in an Afghan patrol. Now off to a BBQ to discuss the day.

I didn't get to the dawn service but later in the day our family attended a local service.

Kids already in bed asleep and I can sit down to watch some AFL & Super XV. Mrs QF WP doing some quilting. Very proud of my children this morning. Quite a day

Myself, wife and kids have flown over to Mel from WA (added bonus is that its a public holiday back there) Joined the masses at the Dawn service then again watched the march in the rain, came unprepared once again for the MEL weather but felt it our duty to bear that small sufferance. Especially moving for my wife who lost her Grandfather last year who had served in WW2
RIP Pop Snooks.
