Apple iPhone 5C/S

Anybody else noticed how fussy iOS7 is with charging cables? If they aint' genuine Apple - they aint workin - damn it!

I only use the official ones, but have heard from a friend. It's not too expensive to buy MFi cables...

I bought a handful in Beijing for a buck ea - worked perfectly with iOS6 - but now so hit and miss they are not worth using.

Guess will have to re-load with the newer updated versions next time I am in BJ.

It doesn't require genuine Apple cables - anything Made For iPhone (MFI as indicated above) works (Griffin, Kensington, Belkin)

When I plugged in a 'made for Apple' cable I got a message saying it may not work properly. It is working ok, though.

I had a issue with a genuine cable on a iphone 5.

Handset was saying not supported cable or something like that.

I tried 3 or 4 genuine cables.

At the end we could do nothing as we could not charge it and could also not try and reload the software onto the handset.

Trip to Apple for the customer.

OK maybe I was a tad off the mark - if it aint genuine Apple approved as opposed to fake Chinese Apple approved - they aint working.

But of course within a week or 2 the Chinese fakes will pretty well overcome this. I counted up last night - I have 11 iPhone 5 charging cables - 9 fake Chinese I think. Multiply that number 11 by what 'genuine' cables cost you? I figure if I churn few a few 1 buckas till I get a bunch that work I am still going to be a mile in front.

I had the same problem with some non-genuine cables giving the warning (but still worked) after upgrading to iOS7.

I bought a couple from this guy (after confirming with him that they work ok with iOS7) and they are fine including on my 5S

Lo and behold - one cable that just would not charge 2 days ago is now working like a little trooper - go figure. And YES it is definitely the cable - tried on 3 different iPhone 5 and on 4 different computers.

Does anyone else think the new firmware is very "feminine". I'm a girl and I even think it is. The icons just look girly girly to me, I like them but just wondering what the guys think?

Battery life is really good.

Upgraded Vodafone contract on Sep 30 from previous Infinite to new Red plan - plan went up $5 / mth + $7 / mth for 16GB 5S - guaranteed delivery in 2 or 3 days. Had not received by Sun 13th so went into store in Southland where ordered and after call to customer service am informed store was given incorrect info and delivery still 2 weeks away.

Have been in for minor surgery since weekend but now home and will be calling customer service myself this arvo to give them a right ol' payout.

I looked at the big W link, but although it advertises the 5 C and S , I was only offered the option to buy the 4 S

Telstra are also being very cagey about supply and say they are rationed.

I wonder if that is why they are pushing the Galaxy range instead?

got my 5S 2 days ago in the new Gold colour. Liking touch ID, it's pretty cool! The camera under low light conditions is A LOT better than my previous iPhone 5.

Ordered about 3 weeks ago, upgraded with vodafone

Slomo videos are pretty cool on the 5S, other than that and the fingerprint sensor same as my old 5.
