Apple Pay by end 2015 [Amex-Issued Only]

Because I cant just swipe open a msg/notification, if i do that i get the passcode screen, If i do the thumb thing first it doesn't open into the msg or app

On the passcode screen there is an emergency button at the bottom, if you setup your health app, this can display emergency contact, blood type, donor etc.

You can swipe over a message and then use your touch ID to open it directly

Interested as to why? Don't you just press the home button and the phone opens up? Isn't it quicker than not having it as you have to swipe right (an extra step).

I just open with the finger print thingy too - so easy.

Well, I'm a convert to the finger print thingy now. And the Apple Pay is great. I put Jnr on to it too. She stopped in to Coles on the way home from bootcamp the other morning and realised didn't have her CC, but no problem, just used Apple Pay. She was impressed.

I hope the other CC issuers come on board.

Hope others come on board, my other Amex earns more points. I only got the email today and haven't had a chance to try it out. It will be super helpful though, coffee run on the way to work just got easier. Gone are the days of stashing your PayPass card in the back of your phone case.

Can't wait for metro/subway/opal/go/myki to get on board.

I have found that you need a passcode as the fingerprint won't work if you have been in the pool and yr print is all wrinkled. I can't see the problem other wise with the finger print: put your finger on it and count to a half second and you are in, much quicker.

BTW, how does one access 'emergency' contact without going in to the phone?

Lotion, steam, even just sweat from walking around and my touchID stops working. I use the passcode most of the time because it's too frustrating for me.

May be posted elsewhere but I noticed in the CommBank app that paywave is now available on their CCs from Android phones with NFC. I have recently closed mine so can't test but I'm guessing CBA won't be interested in paying apple a commission.

Over the last week I asked Amex to change me from the David Jones Amex to David Jones Platinum card. As soon as they changed my account the Apple Pay card automatically updated and I was able to use it straight away despite not having the physical card for another 3/4 days.

Had an automated email from Amex saying this will occur for any card replacement/upgrade/change etc that has been loaded for Apple Pay. Probably the easiest dealings I've had with a bank/card change.

apolgies if answered before but on the webpage it says the palces apple pay is accepted, the 7 or so of them,

I went to a restaruant tonight ( a small one, they normally accept amex) and the guy paid with apple pay,

so how can apple pay be used at small business? is it anyone who accepts amxex can accept apple pay?

I was just thinking that any place that doesnt accept amex or charges a fee, you may be able to use the amex card fee free or at all depending on how it works

Applepay can be used at any business that accepts contactless payments for the respective card brand. Amex, Visa, MasterCard
