Thanks again Cam,

Fabulous commentary and the private cellar tour was really special.

I do feel a bit sorry for your brother:cool:

As the first timer on these tours, I can say it was a great first time

The best ‘Kassler’ and Olives....

Amd passionate hosts !

That time when your points upgrades come through in the middle of the tasting in the Rockford barrel room, and you end up in 1D with your spouse in 3F ... and Ms 1F is very, very chatty!! :p:p

I now know SO much about her family, and she won’t realise this, but if it comes up in four year’s time, I’ll probably remember the most random things about her mum, her kids, husband, the various holiday apartments and so on.

And I’ll have some interesting tactics if I have to be encouraging Little Miss 31 to move out of home, though I’m not sure she’ll be a doctor!!

Welcome to AFF @BarossaBoy
A big thank you for hosting us yesterday.
The afternoon exceeded all my expectations. Many thanks for the chauffeur shuttle, it ensured we all got on the coach in a timely manner and arrived at the airport on schedule.

Hopefully not too much of a tangent - it was a delightful surprise that Tasting Australia was on while we were in Adelaide this past weekend. We arrived at the Hilton after 9pm Fri night, hoping for just a bit more to eat after our flight down (and to drink, as the FA seemed to not understand the concept of refills - QF J flight). Tasting Australia was taking up half of Victoria Square, opposite the Hilton. We popped over, got some glasses of wine, grabbed some snacks, enjoyed our food and drinks, and left sated. So much better than room service!

There were various other activities on, including in the Barossa - we saw evidence of the Farm to Table tour at Rockford, where people were travelling in a horse cart from Rockford up to their farm area along (perhaps slightly off) Krondorf Rd.

For enthusiastic foodies and winos (hmm?), I'd heartily recommend a visit to Adelaide and surrounds during Tasting Australia!

Mmm maybe I need to pop up to the Barossa and visit Elderton's again. Us Adelaide people can do that easily but we don't get any FF points or status credits

Sounds like a lovely tour.

Sad that I missed out... next time

Not the @JessicaTam fancy suite but still a nice little upgrade at the Adelaide AFF hotel.

I actually prefer that room category - it's slightly nicer/newer than the set of a Florida murder mystery which that hotel is well known for.
