I'm more bothered by the one month extension as I had about 7000 aquire points in April. I would've liked a kick start towards the 20k requirement. As best I can tell the one month extension was a result of poor IT rather than a concern for the customer.

Yes i think it was too.. i was in the same boat as the april flying would have counted into the new year. as it was i easily clocked the 20k.. but still

There was a 1 month extension last year as well IIRC - I have been wondering if they are trying to align the membership year with the FY

that was the same (only) one month extension at the end of the first Aquire year. It was total against the T&Cs. Also given people can sign up at any time aligning with the FY would seem to be a pointless exercise, it would also require them to change the T&Cs.

Any thoughts as to whether they'll try to charge the membership fee at some point?

Not really sure what you mean. There is a fee to join, which has been charged outside specific sign up promos. I'm not aware of a published renewal fee. If you mean renewal?

Originally it was going to be an annual fee, but was dropped after (presumably) poor take-up of the scheme.

Yes. I was also confused when I first started looking at Aquire. There are still plenty of conversations on the net about an annual fee and it took some reading to realise that it had been dropped, so I can understand from where junbugging is coming.

Success! Thank you Qantas.

After 6 weeks and 4 or more phone calls, Aquire have agreed to assign the bonus SCs and Aquire points for flights booked during the Promotion period, but paid with Gift Vouchers purchased prior to the promotion period. Took a while, but the Aquire agent finally got approval. The way it was discussed with me gave the impression they were dealing with a bunch of flights that fit this category, so there's obviously a few people chasing their bonuses. Good luck to others... YMMY.

So you argued this with Aquire and not regular Qantas FF service centre?

The first and second time I called, the agents answered "Welcome to the Qantas Freq.... opps, Aquire Contact centre...", and another agent has mentioned to me that some QFF agents share time on the Aquire phones. (The third time, I got the same agent as the second call). So whether it was Aquire or Qantas people dealing with it in the end, I was not certain, and I'm not sure how much distinction they make internally on this issue at the Call Centre and Supervisor level.

But to answer your question: I called the Aquire contact phone number each time.

This is why I buy fresh gift vouchers for promos. It does lead to a stockpile of christmas bonus points vouchers to use. But I got rid of some of those yesterday on good sale fares.

I decided to do this with the recent Double SCs offer rather than having to chase the bonus on a technicality.

I think in future I'll do that too. It's just not worth the hassle, since Qantas seem incapable of ever fixing this bug.

For those still waiting on Aquire SC and/or Bonus points:

I called Aquire just then on (02) 8222 2563.

I had what seemed like a very knowledgable guy who answered instantly and knew exactly how to fix it all...so sounds like there's been quite a few cases or I was lucky...

Apparently I'll get my missing credits and points from at least a day to at most a week from now.

Did his name start with J or P? They are the people I've been dealing with.
