Are Jetstar really that bad??

OK enough from me - back to Champagne breakfast in 19D on SQ324 SIN-AMS
I haven't been so active on AFF recently, but came back to this thread today and scrolled past this photo quickly, saw I was in the Jetstar thread, and was like - wtf, how did you get that kind of spread on Jetstar? Glad there's not actually a rift in the space-time continuum...

a little aside, JQ appears to have added a few more international pre-ordered meal options in Y
It actually coincides with the 1 December new menu:

A new international main and price rises of 50 cents.

The old international mains:

Going through the rest of the menu items:
- All hot drinks are the same and the same price
- All soft/cold non alcoholic drinks are the same and same price with the addition of apple juice.
- All savoys snacks are the same and same price with the addition of BBQ Vege Chips.
- All sweet snacks are the same and same price except Jelly planes replaced with party mix and the chocolate is now Lindt
- Beer and wine is the same option/price ($10 or $12) except the Seltzer is replaced by Squires Ginger Beer
- A mini spirit and mixer is the same options but increased by 50c to $12.50
- All light meals same price/option
- The noodles which were one beef and one veg option is now the same veg option with the beef replaced by a mushroom risotto (still both $7.50)
- All the combos remain the same options/prices except the "combo fav" with beer + pringles + chicken wrap is now a pie or vege pie instead of the wrap
- Finally pens/blankets are the same, chocolate replaced by postcards and the aircraft models are $2-3 more, with the amenity kit also rising $2

Finally the other change is that on max fares you can no longer order two vouchers (was previously possible to order a $15 voucher and a $10 voucher as your first and second meal).

Flew Jetstar Business Xmas eve to Honolulu. Was booked on Qantas Points. Selected seat 2D and up until leaving home that was my seat at check in moved to 1G. Selected 2D when booked. I selected this seat as I wanted to stretch out a bit and all row 3 was already blocked. Check in agent was a bit naff and wasn't interested and said we have to sit family's together. At boarding nearly every business class passenger's boarding pass beeped and most of us were re allocated back to our original seats. Very strange! The flight itself was fine as was the food and service although the crew were all Asia based and communication was interesting at times. Would I book Jetstar again probably not for Hawaii but maybe a shorter trip like Bali or Singapore. The only reason I flew them in the first place was the Qantas didn't fly 24th or 25th and I could not fly on the 23rd December.

Flew Jetstar business JQ30 BKK-MEL Jan 13. Business class dedicated check in at BKK excellent. Flight was good, PDB offered, dinner served quickly after take off, then hot breakfast before landing. Pushed back from BKK about 5 mins early and landed MEL 25 mins ahead of schedule. Unfortunately an issue with bags meant baggage not arriving until about 1 hour after landing (perhaps staff not ready for early arrival)...

The crew/soft product is good, the seats are now showing age and lack of lumbar support and I have no idea how the foot rest is suppose to work - need updating.

Not bad at all if you are a Platinum or Platinum 1 on JQ63 or the couple of other domestic flights they have which happen to depart from the international terminal thereby granting you access to the Qantas First class lounge. 3 hour delay? Splendid! Flight cancelled, don't worry I'll head back land side once my massage is done!

No bag for niece today from her PER-SYD flight.
This could happen on any airline! However, they do need to reimburse her for buying toiletries and other sundry items. Additionally, they must deliver the bag to her (i.e. she doesn't need to go to the airport to pick it up) and possibly even refund her money on the checked bag fee too!

JQ can be a very effective way of earning status credits on the cheap.

Would you say row 2 or row 1 has better legroom on the 787?
