I am with you John.Have been to a couple of Din Tai Fungs and I came to the same conclusion.

DTF is dumpling sacrilege! Have to try dumplings from the best local restaurants in HK, totally different - very light, delicate, complex flavours, piping hot and fresh.

or ... Golf is just an excuse to wear shorts that most people would not be seen dead wearing in public :p

If you have to ask about dumplings you'll never know :)
I have tried dumplings all over the world. Delicacy they are not. Extremely overrated and I would not travel anywhere just to have them least of all a status run to TPE.

Finally someone with a logical statement.

I'm sure I feel the same way about golf....

.... and golf is just golf :!:
And you are both correct and totally within your rights to have that opinion. ;)

Apologies if anyone is offended with my dumpling comments. It is just food and totally not worth going out of the way for it especially to overpriced restaurants....

As long as you aren't offended by our golf comments! ;)

Personally I love dumplings and hate golf, equally passionate about both! Hehe

I'm a lover of both - Dumplings (good ones) are simply delicious. I'm also pretty handy with a club, was a single handicapper in my early teens.

Approaching mid 40's I can now indulge in the pleasure of both & have done so in a few countries:D

Unfortunately, being a once or twice a year hacker I've blown out to around 15.

Dumplings are fantastic especially when you have had a few reds... actually even McDumplings are fantastic on a friday night...hic!!!

I am a single handicapper as well. I am off 3. And then on the second hole I am off 3. And then on the 3rd hole I am off.... :p

Try them when you are sober and you will know what I am talking about. ;)

There's a little Japanese cafe on Swanston Street that I visit every time I'm in Melbourne called Yoyogi Cafe. It's not classy, it's not upmarket, but I always have the gyu no tataki without fail.

Olympic donuts at Footscray station. - best in the world by a mile.
