Need to ask some lame questions :oops:

I'm about to book SCL-LIM ... LIM-CUZ ... JUL-SCL

The MCT at SCL I>I is 1 hour. We want to connect from QF27 (12:10) and fly to Lima on LA642 (15:05) giving us 2h 55m buffer. The LA flights will be on a separate booking.

Questions;

1. Given it's an international connection - will QF check our luggage from BNE all the way to Lima?
<snip>

I'm almost certain your bags will go through to LIM and you won't need to pay the fee but someone else may be able to confirm that.

I recently did SYD-SCL (QF) connecting to SCL-MDZ (Argentina, LAN) and bags were checked through, but it was on the same ticket. you should be OK. The transit at SCL was a bit tricky though. After de-planeing, you have to go through a transit door to the left, just past the first lot of 'reciprocity payment' booths (ignore). Then there is a security point, then you go up escalators to the departures floor and enter though a non descript door to a 'random' part of the departures area.

A bit obscure how to get to the LAN lounge from here - no signs whatsoever and no terminal maps in the vicinity. You actually have to go through one of the duty free shops near where you come out, to a corridor behind, and take a (poorly signed) lift up to the lounge. I got lost :rolleyes: and eventually went to the AA lounge to ask directions. But the LAN lounge is worth it.

Hopefully Juddles sees this and can give you better directions (as he helped me).
