I was refused entry to the CX lounge at BkK earlier this month. Flying JL in J.
Said they were not taking any OW passengers.
The lounge was completely empty, morning flight.
I had no trouble accessing the QR lounge though.

This article is out of date, while many of the issues that had been reported elsewhere at the start of the month on other forums remain, CX changed again two days ago and are admitting other OW pax with confirmation from MH pax.

I was in Bangkok earlier in the year and could use my PP at the Air France Lounge - it was in no way inferior. Great views, amazing food and nice ambiance. It is a shame that the lounge has dropped off the PP list... the other non-airline lounges looked very average.

I'm flying out of BKK on SQ in a couple of weeks. It will be interesting to see if my Star Gold status will get me into the other Star Alliance Lounges (eg TG, TK, BR). If not I'll have to slum it in the SQ lounge.

This whole business of directing travellers to the Miracle and Coral lounges smells a little. One wonders what the relationship is between the lounge owners and the airport management (and owners).

I flew out of BKK March 25th in Biz on Qantas and was turned away at the CP Lounge but was pleasantly surprised by the Air France/KLM lounge which was nice and quiet at that time of day, much nicer than the Miracle lounges.

I don't think there's the slightest doubt that this is all about forcing passengers to use the Miracle lounges (which also includes the Coral lounges) which are owned by a Thai company.

Can confirm this somewhat, at BKK Airport at the moment. Upon check in, was told that I could use the Air France lounge only. Am based in BKK, fly monthly and have never been told this before. Lasted 20 minutes in the AF lounge until the QR lounge opened.

Less than 3 weeks ago I was refused entry also.
I’m Qantas Club Gold and was flying with MAS. They told me the lounge was very full and they only would take members flying Cathay.
I could see through the windows the lounge was only half full though.

I will have a long transit in BKK on the way to Europe (two seperate tickets). The forward journey is on QR J (with lounge access). I don't have status with any airline. What lounges are available to use &/or recommended by members. Not a big drinker. More concerned with ambience and facilities (shower, wifi, quiet comfortable areas, food)

The QR lounge is great, albeit may not be open for all of those 7hrs (it opens and shuts throughout the day).

In theory you might also have access to the CX and JL lounges, but as per above they might not be letting you in at present.

If you're happy to pay for lounge access, you can't go past the Omanair lounge (quite near the QR lounge). Good food oiptions, self-pour quality champagne and comfortable seating.

It used to be my go to lounge at BKK until the airport mafia closed off this option (using prority pass).

Well, if they finalise their oneworld membership by the currently advised end of June - it could be back on the menu!

Fortunately our lounge access is not in doubt. over the next 6 months will be departing only on QR or SQ.

Interesting. Their only outstation lounge. Otherwise just Muscat and Salalha in Oman.

A bit of looking around and there is a short stay transit hotel behind security 4/6/8/10hr stays. The QR lounge opens at 4pm. So perhaps 4hour hotel snooze stay with snacks & shower, wander around, nice massage, and then into QR lounge 4hr before the flight.
