I also recently did a KUL-MEL daytime flight, in Y-class, on MH.

But in their extra legroom, 36" inch pitch, Y-class mini-cabin, sold at extra cost.

The daytime timing and the extra seat pitch both made a difference for me.

While I'm not sure about the MH A350-900, but I did travel on a MH A330-300 the other day and paid extra for an "extra leg room" seat that's available in rows 9 and 10. It's 36 inches legroom but with the same Y-class seat and width as the rest of Y-class in the usual 2-4-2 A330 Y-class...

Yes, far more daytime flights from Australia to Asia (largely due to the way the time difference happens to be).

For example, and with limited exceptions, pretty much all Qantas flights from Australia to Asia operate during the day and then return overnight.

There are plenty of those, not a problem, therefore no point to such a list. The reverse direction is the issue, almost as rare as hen's teeth, that's the point of the article.

Re-starting. Used to be a daily pre-covid. Overnight up to Haneda, and the daytime back to Perth meant a pretty early start unless you were staying right at the airport..

Can put in your SQ KF membership # to earn KF miles, and then transfer them to VFF, as well all know, TK/THY is in *A.
Not a bad deal.
Granted there is a "loss" of 35% in the KF -> VFF transfer, but still, better than nowt!
