What would be the best way to check for award availability? Would other Skyteam airlines be the option?
On the Qantas website, when you search for BNE-AKL, it will show both CI and QF flights as available unless you click date by date and go through it

Air France is showing wide availability - 17k BNE-AKL in Y. // 55k in J.
If it shows 13k, it's a QF redemption.
