Article: GOL Airlines Doesn’t Want My Money

Surprised to hear you has problems with payments on Avianca website, I have booked flights directly with Avianca and paid with Australian card before without issue.

Sounds like an Own Gol (Soccer joke). I’ll see myself out now…

Matt, did you try their mobile apps? That often gets around poor web design, compatibility and geographic issues.

I find when using a VPN, that some web sites only seem to work with some browsers. Computershare only seems to like Firefox, and others only like Chrome etc. So maybe try different browsers if using a VPN.

I experienced the same when planning my upcoming trip to Brazil. Total nightmare with all these South American countries identity number requirements for the booking (argentina does the same thing). In the end booked via an OTA at a higher price because it was just wasting time.

I have the same problems with GOL - no way to book directly. I am looking to use an OTA, most of whom can't sell you luggage. How easy is it to add luggage on the GOL website once you have a booking?

Nothing is easy on GOL’s website. I was able to add baggage on the OTA which shows up on GOL’s manage my booking. But I can’t select a seat. Good luck.

I am slamming my head into the same problem right now. Similar error messages to you, cannot even search for the flights that are showing up in Google Flights.

I also tried to book Gol flights using AAmiles in the AA redemption engine and it offers me flights I want (BOG-xEZE-CNF) and (BOG-xGRU-CNF) but when you get around to really going ahead with the booking, it says "one flight is not available". BOG-GRU direct would work, but it's such a disaster, I'm just going to avoid Gol entirely.

Although my only other option is LATAM, and when I get to the seat selector page, I receive "access denied" unless I switch from the english website to the spanish one and start again, and complete the whole booking using auto-translate.

I had the same exact issue both on the website as in the app.
Ended up booking with LATAM instead,

I ditched Gol for LATAM for the same exact reason, LATAM went as smooth as can be, very easy to use.
