Article: Not All Economy Class Products Are the Same

As well as my neighbour, I observed numerous passengers texting throughout the flight without any intervention by flight crew. It seems that there is no ‘duty of care’ or safety culture onboard Qantas anymore and restrictions regarding exit rows are just on paper and not to be enforced. Does any airline take passenger safety seriously these days?
Various apps such as WeChat,WhatsApp, Facebook messenger etc allow you to text whilst in airplane mode There is nothing wrong with doing this

I noticed that as well also when told to wear masks during COVID. Many did not or had below chin. My complaint to FA did nothing as when she told pax to cover up he just ranted and raged. I then told him I did not want contact with him and to keep his face covered. The Chinese Pax who spoke English then abused me. No QF has lost the plot. I have given up with them, hence their global position in ranking. My next 2 long haul are with EK and QR using points as did not want to fly QF

I would also not discount another factor for the variance in whY seats and the info about them online: some airlines just sprout BS.

Sometimes this may be because they don’t care about providing correct or meaningful information; but I suspect there are also plenty who just lie. eg: we have 79cm (or 30in) pitch! Maybe one aircraft did when that was measured 10 years ago but they’ve now installed everything at 76cm and just never bothered to update their info. Who’s going to call them out for it? I’m sure there’ll be a blogger getting around who take a a tape measure with them - they can’t all just do a ‘loo review’ to think they’re special… 🙄

Following the lead of their motor manufacturers, I wonder if ITA just boldly declares their whY pitch to be something outlandish like 4 metres? “My little Lancia has 800 horsepowers…”

Sorry, enough rambling; do carry on.

Did the flight have wifi enabled ? If so, how do you know the passengers were “texting” and not just using messaging apps?
