I know that this if off topic...
Just as a question. How much does it cost nowdays to upgrade your IT equipment? Computers (including servers) are dirt cheap nowdays and technology has advanced in leaps and bounds in the last 5-10 years. Can't be that hard, and l'm sure the cost can be written off somewhere. You could always take someone elses software and just change the titles. Fees for Oneworld might be a different story though.
I'm just pointing out that friends of mine have told me that since Ansett left the scene, Qantas benefits to there top tier FF's has been slowly eroding. Seems like we need someone in Oz with GLOBAL connections (like Qantas and with the OW Alliance) to really put some more competition here. Just have a look at Asia, USA and Europe, it's a smorgasbord of Alliances and they are spolit for choice. Us on the other hand, let's be honest here, only really have Qantas to choose from if you want something on the world stage.
Now, l know that Virgin is a LCC and is trying, but how long did it take them to get FFP in place....let alones lounges at airport (Perth still doesn't have one).
