Pretty good summary IMO
They are all very good lounges and SIN is indeed blessed to have a good number of quality OW lounges. Would be nice if the QF J lounges at our major ports could lift their game as they aren’t a patch on SIN unfortunately

Also, I imagine the SIN QF J lounge is less crowded now that JQ/3K are operating out of T4?

I poked my head in last visit while waiting for the F Lounge to open and still struck me as a solid lounge.

I think it still gets quite busy with 2 a380s and 5-6 a330s and also multiple BA flights all departing in the same time period.

The Qatar Airways Singapore Premium Lounge is only available to Business and First Class passengers flying with Qatar Airways or a Oneworld airline, excluding Qatar Airways Business Lite fares. If you’re flying Economy or Premium Economy, you unfortunately won’t be able to use this lounge – even with Oneworld Emerald status.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's the British Airways Lounge.

Of course, eligible flyers could also visit the Qantas Business Lounge.

OW website is silent on that but does list:
Dnata Lounge for UL
Marhaba for AY and JL, and
SATS Premier for MH

They’d be the default for J PAX and OW Status PAX who don’t know better.

Yeah, I can imagine but it was spec’d for F/J and status PAX with multiple flights to/from Oz and multiple Euro flights LHR, FRA etc. Hence the decent size. Outside of those A380 transit times it shouldn’t be too bad - actually I’ve heard reports here of peeps saying they didn’t have time to go the lounge transiting QF1/2. Not sure why.

That’s what QR do at all outstations where they have a Premier Lounge (F/J PAX on non Lite fares only - and reward F/J PAX).

Have to agree 100% the Syd & Melb Qantas International Business Lounges do need a make over

Note the Qatar lounge now opens after approx 3:30pm.

They have moved their 9pm flight to depart in the hour after 6pm, so the Lounge is open appropriately earlier.

Reports are it does not close between then and their 2am'ish flight boards.

No issues a few weeks ago. I was on QF J revenue ticket but my partner was on a QF J award (both printed on Bangkok Airways ticket stock too) and no issues. And just to report back I had no issues either earlier this year.

I was travelling QF J from Singapore to Melbourne last year and thought I'd do a bit of a lounge crawl. BA was the first lounge to come across and I was quite impressed with it. After about 45min, I decided to venture to the QF J lounge. I was very disappointed to be honest. It was busy and the offerings were pathetic imo. 1 hot dish (curry and rice) and salad buffet. It was quite pathetic compared to the BA lounge. Next went to the Emirates lounge (granted not a Oneworld lounge), but this was leagues better than both the QF and BA lounges. For starters, you actually get a view of the planes landing, but the food offering is far superior, proper champagne rather than 19 crimes in QF. At least BA had a decent champagne. The Emirates lounge also was nice and quiet. I had intentions to also visit the Qatar lounge, but it wasn't open when I arrived and was so happy with the Emirates lounge I didn't venue next door. Kicking myself now. I should have at least had a stickybeak but the family didn't want to move again. I would avoid the QF lounge like the plague if you have options of a different lounge.

Sounds like you had a bad experience compared to the rest of us, and that seems entirely caused by the numbers there. The QF lounge is a solid offering and has a couple of a la carte options (generally wontons/laksa and a plate of the day) on top of the buffet. Plus it has a manned bar (with coughtails) and proper coffee.
I think you'll find most of us here rank it as one of the better J/OW Sapphire lounges around the world and arguably the best QF J lounge. I certainly rate it higher than the BA lounge next door.

I'd encourage you to revisit it, get there early after check in, enjoy the plate of the day or a laksa with a coughtail and re-assess (oh and the showers there are also very well appointed for a J lounge).

Tested the 'Blossom Lounge' in T4 the other day after spending time in the QF J lounge. The two are worlds apart. Whilst the trek may take a little while, there is no comparison if you have access to both.

I think the problem is that once it becomes peak time, it gets very full. QF has 2 a380, 5 a330 departures, BA has 4 too, AY, JL all have flight departures in the evening.

If you get ahead if the crowd it's not too bad, but once the 380s start to arrive it gets very busy.

In that Blossom Lounge is better or worse?

The Blossom Lounge is basically a credit card lounge (I think that it’s a joint SATS and Plaza Premium lounge). I’d rate it better than the Plaza Premium in SYD.

At T4 you don’t really have any options anyway, so if you don’t want to change terminals it’s probably better than sitting in the terminal.

I hear this a lot. Hardware wise I don’t mind the Melbourne Intl J lounge it seems fit for purpose. But some improvements to catering would make it a vastly better experience. But we know QF are more likely to invest in the capital for trendier decor than the ongoing expense of improved catering.

To be honest, just back from a trip to the US I felt that lounges I went to there (AA Admirals Club in BOS, United Club in DEN where superior to MEL/SYD J lounges and on a part with or better than the now downguaged QF J lounge in Singapore). And all inferior to the AA Flagship Lounge in ORD which OWS and above can access.
