As a follow up to this earlier post, I just got an offer commencing the 19th 5400 pts on $100 spend. Hmmm. I arrive on the 18th for a couple of weeks. They know I'm coming.
 
I am waiting for a decent offer. I have not boosted for the last two weeks and I got an email reminder saying 'remember to boost'. I wonder if I will get a special offer next..šŸ˜ using Coles the meantime as I have been getting some great offers however the really big ones are on things I don't use.
 
Any thoughts on whether activating the offer and not redeeming it is any better or worse than not activating it at all?
I've been doing this for a few months now with Woollies EDR. Our household has shrunk over the years with kids leaving home, visitors reducing over COVID, just eating less and cooking more things from scratch not pre-packaged etc etc and although I used to spend around $280-300 per week, now it's more like $150-$180 per week. They keep sending me offers for $280+ in consecutive weeks (usually 2 weeks or sometimes 4 weeks). I activate and then shop as normal. I have not seen any discernible response from this approach.

Even with being away effectively from late Nov-late Feb (only home for 3 weeks in this period, and shopped just once for milk and basics) i haven't noticed any special "please come back" offers.

I mainly regard EDR as a way to stop my QF points expiring these days, rather than a way to actively earn.
 
You do need 2000 EDR points to get 1000 QFF points.
Better to get a QTMC and use that every few weeks, don't have to put a lot of money onto it.
The QTMC points go direct to QFF, no min spend, granted you need $10 to get 2.5 points, a bit more beneficial if you buy a coffee from a BP outlet, points go straight to QFF as well.
Both the QTMC and buying anything at BP and showing your QFF card, are faster than via EDR.
 
After leaving Australia, I obviously stopped spending with both major chains and all their associated stores.

Both started sending me generous bonus point offers, which I ignored being overseas.

After a while, the Flybuys offers got less frequent. I rarely get anything from them now.

Everyday Rewards however continues to send generous bonus points offers, week after week, things like 10x bonus points, or 2000 points to spend $1 at Woolworths, etc, etc.

So while I'm back in the country once or twice a year, Woolworths now gets my money, because it seems like Coles and Flybuys gave up on me.

Coles gave up on me after a 10 week trip o/s. So I created a new account and intend on closing my one linked to my Velocity account and linking this new one instead and see if that gets things going again. (Cue someone pointing out I can't do that for a reason I've overlooked...!)

I mean nothing stopping you doing that.

Just that the instant you spend once and their systems will realise your spending again and send you stuff. Targeted advertising is very quick these days.

You might just need to say "I'm going to shop at X" and that might trigger it šŸ˜‚.

Ps you may have gotten woolies and coles mixed up. Woolies = QFF, Coles = VFF.

Further to my February post. Another 10 months have gone by and I still haven't got a decent offer. Mind you have been OS for 26 weeks of the 45 since then.
FB still send offers regularly. Like a good points junkie I was able to finish a 4 week offer from FB for 10000 points at $60 spend. Was only home 19 days. First weeks shop done on the last day which was our first day home and the last weeks shop done at 7am on the day we left for this trip.

Oops thanks, corrected. It's Coles who gave up on me. have tried shopping a small amount, a large amount, or no amount over the past few months and it's triggered not a single bonus offer. So let's see how this reset with a new account goes.

(I do most of my shopping at Woolworths so I've long since given up on any interesting offers from them.)
 
Coles have never sent me any FB offers other than fuel and car insurance and I don't own a car.

However as a new Woolworths just opened within walking distance 4 weeks ago, I finally using their app and have already had 4000 QFF points credited for under $300 total spend. They seem to just throw points at you.
 
Woolies hasn't given me a good offer since I got their insurance and started doing one big shop a month for 10% off. I just get specific product offers like 80 points for Ben's Rice.

My husband's card is rarely used, I put a small $10-20 on it to keep it alive but he hasn't gotten any decent offers either. Except we both got some Christmas offers that everyone seemed to get - spend $1 for 2000 points and a couple spin the snowglobe ones.

We were both getting Coles spend X/10k at reasonable levels up until October, and I would take them all up. Then I stopped getting offers on my account for the last 2, my husband still got them. I buy those gift cards at Coles when there is a 20x or 2000 points for $100 card and I space them out over a few days if I need more to keep our averages down. Like yesterday I bought a $100 gift card on each account and immediately paid the water bill. This weekend I will get another $100 on each account and probably Tuesday as well. I am trying to bump up velocity for the awards I need to redeem in a few months.
 
LOL I love it when they make a liar out of me!

My account:
Collect 3,000 bonus points
When you complete a $90 shop at Coles, each week for 2 weeks
or
Collect 4,500 bonus points
When you complete a $130 shop at Coles, each week for 2 weeks instead

My husband got $110 and $150 respectively. I'll do the $130 on my account, can't afford to do them both. But if it creeps up too much will have to let the next one go.
 
Woolies don't seem to desperate to me as they keep sending me offers for something I have just bought.

An example:
I have a few blueberries on my morning cereal so only buy a packet of frozen blueberries every four or five weeks. The other week a bought 1kg and the next week I got a bonus offer for another kg!

Similar story recently with frozen pies, large pots of greek yoghurt, large packs of frozen peas, etc, etc
 
Somewhere in one if these threads is a comment that they will still give the points if you are not too far off due to out of stock items. I think up to $30 for $250 shop offer. You have to call. I have done that successfully once.
Happened to me last week. I don't trust them (Philippines call centre), so didn't proceed with the next 3 weeks of the offer. Coles is pretty poor in that regard IMO.

But was in the middle of a pretty good 4-week Woolies offer at the time, so didn't really care.
 
Well Woolies don't want me. Last activity 28/9 then no major offers. then another small shop 8/12. still nothing but last week got 4 product boosters. did one on 29/1. Result no new boosters of any kind this week. At least coles gives me regular multi week options.
 
Maybe need a longer wait.
I have only got the driver in the family, to do the shopping, odd and ends, etc, nothing big.
Then, got offer of spend $100 to get 4,500 EDR points.
 
We have a new Woolies not far from us so we have been shopping there. It would appear Coles want us back as I received a FB offer of 10,000 points for $60 for a 4 week shop
No problem. Last week starts tomorrow.
 
I hate those multi-week offers and as for tracking individual product points boosts = yuk

Itā€™s too much detail to remember

Perhaps itā€™s more the case of ā€œIā€™m shopping when I need and not buying stuff I donā€™t want so Iā€™m frugal in that well unless it comes to a few sweet treats

Even stopping shopping during Fringe saw a spend $50 receive 2,000 points and I was struggling to get to $50 - the local IGA is handier if doing late notice dinners at home !
