I've had my Citi Prestige for 18 months and used the airport restaurant perks well. I'm often with my partner, so it's nice to be able to spend $72. My most indulgent spend of the quota was $36 for one glass of Piper at GC airport. lol

But overall, it's been good value, and the food options at the restaurants are better than the QC or VFF lounges so we often have a meal at a restaurant and then go to the lounge for the free drinks.

I've also been using their free travel insurance, which is easy to activate before you go overseas.

Thanks it’s a useful article highlighting all the locations in AUS with PP restaurants. Where I differ with the author is on the definition of “free”.:p

$700 is steep, sure. But Priority Pass is in addition to the 150k bonus points - easily worth $700 on its own. Keeping the card for the 2nd year is less worth it considering the bonus is only 50k, but again with PP, earn rate and insurance its still a pretty solid deal - and in 24 months time who knows what the points landscape will look like

RIP Payall :(
Would have made it worth it even more!

I have the Citi Premier card which gives you complimentary Priority Pass membership as well but you only get 2 visits a year. Some other benefits but nowhere near the Prestige card. Mind you the 110,000 Velocity points sign on bonus was nice on the Premier card!

I got a takeaway spit roasted lamb & chicken, hummus, salad and bread for $38 (paid the $2 difference) from Biggie Smalls at T3 Mel yesterday and ate it in the Va lounge...with unlimited drinks!

No such thing as a free meal in the world of travel and aviation , somebody is paying for it in card fees or other charges.

If you have this card, can you just use the PP for $72 worth of food and drinks, for 4 people in the restaurant?

I have PP * 2 visits that comes with my Westpac Black MC. I am trying to work out whether I can do this .........

The potential points earned on this card is too vague.

For instance it says you get 1.5 Qantas points per $1 "made directly with major: airlines, hotel chains and restaurants in Australia". What is a major restaurant? Does Macdonalds fall under this category, my cafe down the street, or does it only apply to fancy restaurants? Because if it is not a "major restaurant" then it falls under the 0.5 Qantas poitns per $1 spent which is a major difference.

Similarly, it is 1 Qantas point per $1 "made directly with major: supermarkets, petrol outlets and national retailers". What is a major supermarket? Woolworths yes but is my franchised IGA? What is a major petrol outlet? Again if it is not "Major", it only owns 0.5 Qantas points per $1
