UrkI’m currently sitting in the Ahlan first class lounge at DXB, in the roped off section at the back where QR sends its F passengers.
In most respects, this is an impressive lounge. There’s a la carte dining with a great menu and prompt table service, as well as a full range of spirits and champagne. So you can imagine my surprise to see that 3 of the wines on the drinks list are the same as what’s served in the VA lounges! I think I’ll stick with champagne.

Great point. Only thing I really enjoy lately is the coffee. Other than everything else is meh. Agree at MEL the array of food and wine choices makes me wonder why am I chasing status.With such low level of wines (and food) available, is it even worth chasing status to get access the lounges? Airport facilities food options are getting better and better these days.
