In reply to Kangarooflyer88, so long as they don't swap that beloved 330 to a midget 737.
Or due to "operational and safety reasons" you have been moved from your seat back to Y, or because you were a bit late to do OLCI they moved you from a window to aisle, as they did to me AKL - BNE one Dec before covid.

That's how low public expectations have been set. Flight was on time. Qantas is amazing.
The Qantas apologists get all huffy when anyone dare criticise QF for not delivering on promises, ignoring their own policies or just not delivering what was purchased. Yes, people want to rant, mostly out of pure frustration, but the majority of posters on here are level headed enough to also post about positive experiences on the rare occasion they occur. The fact that we don't currently see too many is testament to where QF are at right now. Either raise your game or stop promising/selling/marketing/charging for services you know you aren't able to deliver.

I think the same words probably can be applied to any airlines out there, be it budget airlines like JetStar, AirAsia and the good old Tiger, or really any non-premium airlines. When things go well, they are all great at all sorts of services can be provided (AirAsia has flat bed too).
But for most savvy travellers, why choose certain airlines, is because when cough hits the fan, the differences between airlines earned their different reputations, especially factor in the fare differences. On that front, I see no difference these days between Qantas and JetStar.
