Asiana in trouble

I wish they would copy MH all the way as their Business Suites are different from First Class in name only. OZ downgraded the soft product significantly but at least they keep flying A380 suites, one of the best F hard products I’ve experienced so far.

Warning to anyone holding a F booking post 1 September eticket number removed and therefore you may no longer have a booking.

Received a sms and email from Asiana about the change. Looks like krisflyer was also notified about the change.

Asiana sent emails today informing effected customers about the change from First Class to Business Suites.

My booking on KF changed from First to Business for the OZ sectors. I’ll call SQ to see what, if anything can be done

So maybe it is LM bookings that have been cancelled? Check my trip has no eticket number for my booking. Cant obviously check booking on LM website as their is no functionality for this?

An update about this ongoing downgrade.

I’ve called KF to explain what happened, they were initially unaware of the OZ changes but once checking my booking it all became clear. The KF rep said there are no direct flights on SQ in F for two pax on saver award to FRA or to any other city in Europe so they will have to dig in further and call me back.

The next day I got callback as promised and was informed they managed to waitlist two seats on the direct SIN-FRA flight in suites so fingers crossed. Even if the waitlist doesn’t clear I’m still impressed by the way KF handled the issue. They had to either create two more saver or use the advantage award pool to waitlist these seats.

We still have to deal with the return flight FRA-ICN which is going to be more complicated as we planed a stopover in Korea for a week on the way back to Australia.
