Asiana too low again at SFO

Right at the top of my list of airlines....

Notice how the controller slows down his speech after things start to go wrong. Such a pity they don't speak like that all the time. And Asiana never confirmed they were for the left when asked.

Ditto. I had them on my personal Do Not Fly List after their piloting failure disaster a few years ago, and this has just reinforced my decision.

We need to counter the Airlines’ blacklist of passengers (their own version of banned) with a Consumer led Do Not Fly database for everyone to see. @Pointhacks and @ExecutiveTraveller, any interest? Or would that compromise all the kick backs you get from the Airlines and compromise your cushy business model?

Offer expires: 18 Mar 2025

- Enjoy an annual $450 Qantas travel credit
- Don't forget the two complimentary Qantas Club lounge invitations and two visits to the Amex Centurion Lounges in Melbourne and Sydney.

Are you going to add KE to that list once OZ is absorbed into them?

An interesting question, Himeno. I fear that there could be a cultural/localised training/piloting skills issue which may extend to KE given similar domestic regulations and standards. The same reticence for me extends to many other Airlines with questionable safety standards and records.

Ultimately, I make a subjective assessment based on my limited knowledge of Airline safety. I rely much more on the opinions of well regarded Contributors here on AFF (see above) with first hand experience, and broad knowledge of individual Airline safety that span many years collaborated among other respected peers.

But everyone has a price. Gimme a sweet/mistake rate fare on OZ/KE and I’m already sipping their finest Champers onboard already.

How do you assess Airline safety and your willingness to travel with them?

I was speaking to a Scoot Captain a while back, he was ex Ansett, and when talking about the subject of poor standards, he said stay away from those Korean based! Was telling me the story of something stupid they did in the Philippines that blew his mind.
