Hey there,

I am not sure if I am on right forum.

I would like to ask some questions about travel agent - who works for flight centre or other travel agent here. It would be nice to ask them about their work, find cheap airfare, expo show, galileo software and so on.

What do u think of that?

Thanks mate

Hi Mate

Not sure exactly what you're asking, but no one is probably going to say who they work for etc or share company information (which would be a breach of T & C's)

If you want to look up airfares and see what prices things are right across the board, do a search for Matrix software

I may be wrong about what the OP is seeking access to...... but the old Service centre adage might apply here...

"The person who loans out tools and works for free is not here today";)

Frequent flyers generally don't use travel agents, as a quick perusal of the site will show across a variety of threads titled "how do I book" etc, we are too busy enjoying flying return J to Asia for $1200 or getting free hotel stays ;), or booking $400 return flights with Qantas to Singapore.

I'm with the others, I doubt you'd find a TA willing to simply spill the beans. I would imagine notifications about travel expos et al can be done by signing up to (insert TA's company name here)'s mailing list.If you had a specific trip in mind, I'm sure most of them would love it if you walked into their shop, and proved you are not just there wasting time (aka actually making a booking at the same time) they would probably be more than happy to tell you about galileo.

Since you specifically mention Flight Centre, I suggest you look at the list of Flight Centre Travel Associates, and find a store located near you. In my experience of one of these places, you get Flight Centre prices with Rolls Royce personal service. I usually recommend them to friends who travel only infrequently or have complicated plans.

Right...thanks.

I think I have posted in the wrong discusson forum. It should be in the "Your questions" where you can ask the hard questions about frequent flyer programs, airlines, credit card reward program and general travel. One of our experts is sure to respond. I always ask a pilot and flight attendant about their duty and aeroplanes there.

An example - a question to ask a travel agent - "Can a travel agent predict that there will be cheap airfare next week?"

They've possibly been informed of an up coming sale, but are unlikely to tell you that if they can sell you a ticket today and earn a higher commission.

I use a travel agent quite regularly (to book things that are too complex to book online). They do not get made aware of sales until the airline puts fares on sale.

We do have some TA's on here though that may be able to assist the OP with questions :)

If I knew of a sale I would always tell the client to hold off. Always. Looking after the client is what we are there for, that's why they keep coming back.

That said, we will generally get formal notification after COB the day prior to the sale starting. So not much lead time.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
